Bubo (Owl Mask) Information -

Bubo, in Greek Mythology, was a robotic replica of Athena's beloved magical owl of the same name.

While first painting on this mask. I started with a golden dry brush. I have few brown colors in my paint box. So it would have to do.
After dry brushing the gold. Then painting the beak "pavement" with a silver dry brush. I really loved how the metallic colors were coming along. I have TONS
of these metallic colors...and went from there. I stuck with mostly the three basic. Gold. Bronze. Silver. The base has been painted black. Some of the colors have an under base of "pavement"(really dark gray) or shades of darker browns. Some of the spots I dry brushed in one direction with gold. Then went back and dry brushed the other way with silver.
While painting...I remembered a metal working owl in a movie. After some Google time I came across Bubo.
