I saw in the forums! Hooray for cleanup work! It's funny, actually. A few times in the past, I wondered how they handled accounts which go idle or whose owners never clear notifications in the first place. I guess the answer is that they didn't. ^^ It's a prime example of problems of scale in web design. It's amazing how design decisions can be perfectly fine for your initial use case, but as soon as some number (users, in this case) gets cranked up by a few orders of magnitude, everything starts to break down in unexpected places.

Eyup, it's great the site is back.

While FA was down I actually happened to meet some furs offline for the first time at a local furmeet I thought it'd be a weird experience and I was bit shy 'cause I knew only one person there but... overall it was nice. I'm looking forward for the next meet, hopefully I'll be more relaxed XD

Hey, that's awesome! My first experience with anybody in the fandom outside my small circle of friends was when I went to FC2011, and I ended up having quite the time! ^^

I wish I'll have a chance in the future to go to a big US con and meet all these amazing people from here. I'd probably completely not know how to approach them though XD

Ha! ^_~ This journal was actually about the flood of people I predicted talking about leaving FA because it was down for a while. This latest flood of people screaming about leaving is a new animal.

Then again, it's pretty much a matter of SSDD for furries. I really love this subculture a lot of the time, but man, the drama cycle gets a little old sometimes. I'm staying completely out of this one. Hopefully, it'll pass soon, and we can all get back to business.

Aw... I'd really like to see your stuff in a great art site. It never hurts to have more than one gallery, and there are easy ways to migrate and maintain both.

I prefer to maintain a gallery in one location, and I like FA. I intend to stay here until it either goes down for good or there is overwhelming evidence that the community has moved elsewhere. The recent kerfluffle doesn't qualify; this isn't even as bad as the underage controversy exodus yet.

As much as I love this community, I really do think that it generates drama. Put the same number of people on another art site, and we'll get the same herd behavior sooner or later. I just want to have a fun time sharing my commissions and talking to cool people. All this other stuff is a major drag.

It's not the community that bugs me as much as how outdated this place has become in terms of features. Still no folder system after all these years.

SoFurry has a group system and live chat along with a live marketplace for posting commission and trade information. It would be a cozy community over there. It's fun to try it out I guess...

Ahh, well, that's not so bad, then. Everybody's been on about the drama lately, I had come to expect it.

It does sound nice, but it would still take a pretty big activation energy to get me to move. ^^

There are automatic gallery transfer tools and SoFurry lets you upload zip files filled with files to bulk upload. So it's not tough.
