It's not about what's popular

This has nothing to do with anything that's been said on FA specifically, but rather in a wider sense, in the not too distant past to recently in general conversation...
I've been asked more than a handful of times why I still "bother" with a Digimon character/fursona when Digimon is nowhere near as popular or active a subfandom as it used to be...
...why, is that supposed to be relevant? I still like Digimon, there are still people who like Digimon, there are still people who like Syl specifically besides. Digimon isn't the big popular thing anymore ... so what? Why on earth would you live your life according to what's popular? Maybe if you're shallow and in desperate need of the attention, or can't hold anyone's interest any other way, but just because somethings "time has passed" doesn't mean it's automatically become bad or not worth the effort anymore.
I still hold a candle for Digimon because I want to. I don't need any more reason than that.

Anything and everything I enjoy is for me and me alone, and if others share that enjoyment for it then awesome. I lose nothing, I gain everything.
