Just writing to let everyone know we've been out of power for the last 48 hours due to the Ice Storm, but we've been getting by well enough due to the auspices of friends allowing us to visit for a few hours each day. I'll be departing for home tomorrow morning to see family, if all goes well, but if the power doesn't come back on soon, the temperature will drop to the point that my roommate and my cat will need to flee our home entirely until power's back on. Reports say the outages may continue past Christmas Day. In case anyone's wondering about us, we're getting by, though cold and hungry.

UPDATE: Dec 24, 7am: Just got power back on about a half hour ago and leaving to travel in 15 min. Here's hoping it stays on for my frozen roommate and kitty.

UPDATE: Dec 24, 6:45pm: I have arrived back home for the holidays. Success.
