I was going to volunteer next year, but then it died. Now, it's been re-animated like a zombie
(it should be called fur-re-animated or something lol). And I was going to volunteer again, but
now a bunch of local friends here in Maynard want to go on the count of seeing I had so much fun.
If they decide to bail on me again, I'm going to drive down alone again and that's how I'll volunteer.
Thanks for the reply (and more important, thanks for getting so involved in it). See ya there!
My fursona's roots go back to my joining the Lilo and Stitch fandom way back in 2002-2004. Back then many people who were fans of the movie and TV series created OC alien experiment characters, and I did the same...creating my first sona, BrandonStitch, around 2004 or so. He was basically just a blue stitch with my fluffy blonde hair. By 2008, though, he had evolved into Experiment 720 - Sky, a much more original looking character with a very deep back story. Around that time I was also getting more and more exposure to the furry fandom, and flirting with joining it, but frankly afraid to for the social stigma.
Around the same time, I was falling for a girl from the UK who already had a wolf fursona but didn't consider herself a furry...and we had discussed creating a male anthro character to pair with her wolf. I decided I wanted a fox...and since my existing experiment fursona was blue, I wanted the fox to be blue as well.
The funny thing was I'd originally intended the character to be kind of insane...but instead she drew him as a very...well...calm and awesome character that embodied my best qualities. Instantly he became my own personal role model...someone I aspired to be more like. That, too, led to me coming even closer to becoming a furry.
After that, my character was featured in much of her art as our relationship progressed over four years. By January, 2013, I decided that I was a furry and wanted to be involved in the fandom. One month later, my relationship ended, but I kept my fursona, and am now hoping to turn him into a fursuit. I am now closer than ever to being just like him...much calmer...much stronger and much braver than before. But retaining all of the heart and love he, and I, always have had.
Blue represents the best in myself that I aspire to be every day, and also represents the culmination of a growing involvement in the fandom that started in 2002. That's it in a nutshell. :)
Wow, awesome explanation! He has a fascinating history. I really enjoy hearing other people's stories about their fursona especially when they go into detail and have such an interesting origin. I love how he evolved from your alien character to what he is now and the fact that he became something for you to aspire to. Thank you so much for sharing! Can't wait to see him brought to life in fursuit form
Now I can think dirty thoughts about you :#3
