Need help at reviewing a Table RPG... please

Calling to the story tellers (if you know what is it then its a good signal)
Anyone have played -Werewolf the Apocalypse- game, i need to make a review of it for the table (the way I call my friends at college)... I Am an avid player of D&D and know every book and almost all the core rules so they tough it was going to be an easy job for me, but this game is different, the background and the info are too important for this game and its almost intoxicating. There is a lot of info before the system basics and with so much flying on my mind about the whole world, this thing seems to be complicated.
Can someone tell me:
-how to make a character-
-the basic combat system-
-the leveling up system-
-or the basic story teller rules-
I Dont need full skype or streaming lessons, just need to get on the right track of this game, my huge trouble is that there is a lot of pre-information before coming to those points, just a quici summary or an easy explication will get me on the right line and i will be able to decipher the rest of the books
(woah, this game has a TON of books with a LOT of information, more about the setting than about the gameplay... D&D has a lot of rules, but most books add things to the actual gameplay than to the story)
