Well, out of habit I always set up A4 pages 300 dpi in case I MIGHT want to print it, or just 2000x2000 px if I know it will go on the web only (hardly needing anything bigger if it's going on a screen).
My pen for sketching is usually around 10-15 pts with pressure sensitivity on so I can give raw the sketch out, and then color it (I hardly ink...). In case I wanna ink, it won't go past the 5-6 pts.
It is big but, I hear that drawing on a larger canvas and shrinking it shows less imperfections. Also my line art sucks, so I feel the less noticeable the lines the better.
For lineart I find that the most comfortable for me is a resolution that exactly matches my computer monitor and at a 100% zoom. This is not always enough to ensure fine detail however so sometimes I need to increase the resolution, and if I am painting I will go higher as well. But just for the most comfortable lineart I feel that this does it.
300 dpi althrough when I'm doing icons, I low it to 150.
Favorite Pen size: 3 and 5. 3 allows me to shade with lines easy and 5 for draw with more depth.
