"Murr"sonas and Names and Stuff
Just pushing that other one off, since it's pretty obvious that was yet another failed attempt on my part. S'all cool. I've got crepes.
Anyway, I remember when I went down to hang out with my friend fennecwolfox and stuff... pretty fun time and all, but something amused me. It's been about 7 years I've been in the fandom, and still I don't even have a real name for my 'sona or anything like that. Sure, I keep popping shit out, but even as a character I seem to fail at giving him a proper name.
... so it makes me wonder. How do you guys go about choosing a name and stuff? Should I just forever be known as 'ringtail' and have to contend with people who like any of perhaps 40 species that can have ringed or banded tails?
I guess half the reason is because I'm just ready to ditch this lame-assed attempt at an account and start over again. I kinda want to just try to start over and make little achievements... set aside some time each weekend for little pictures, develop characters, actually draw or even write!
It's sad that somehow, this whole train of thought brings me back to the fact that I feel like I've begun to stagnate here... well, now, at least. It's a whole different rant entirely, but... you guys don't really need to hear it. But for those of you who are curious enough to actually be reading this still... I'm just feeling... distanced.
p.s.: Why does it seem like nearly no one knows what a "ringtail cat" is? It's always fun when people say "so, what species [...] ?" and I reply and get a funny look and say "Oh, like... a lemur?"
What, did Animal Planet forget to feature some of the less 'zomgwow' species?

Also, I've ripped off a Japanese kids' chant. Oho!
I usually give advice that's something like: find a word/words/sound/phrase that sounds cool/nice/aesthetically pleasing/fly to you, and sit on it for like a month to see if it's decent or just something that wears out its welcome. This is how I got my chiptune artist persona name, Paniflex Jones, and my mate's fursona name, Cranberry Tea.
Also I love ringtail cats and I think that's why I'm watching you in the first place. Haha, speciesism. XD
Hmm... if we use tea as a seed.... we would have to use that stuff I found back in college: Pomegranate Black. (Sounds kinda like a band name, no?) 'Course, then there is epiphany I had once: Chai + Orange Schnapps, but that's a different story!
