I was at the « Masculin / Masculin » exhibit at the Musée d'Orsay yesterday, which ends next week. Some of my favourite pieces (pictures from the web – photographing was forbidden):

Some of those are quite beautiful. I love the third one. I'm reminded of Apollo but I don't think that's what I'm supposed to be seeing.

You mean the fourth, the guy seen from the back with the bow and arrows on the ground? It's a "Male Nude Known As Patroclus" by Jacques-Louis David, an anatomy study which came to be admired as a fully fledged work

Actually, I was referring to the third one you posted, with the Angel-like person flying over the prone body with the white drape. But really... they're both beautiful paintings. The fourth one has a feeling of agony to it. Reminds me of how I feel when I'm depressed or lost in my own darkness.
