RANDOM: My Main Gripes about Pacific Rim (Mini-Spoilers?)

Grammar isn't my Slice of Pie. Especially if its Not Pecan.
Toaster So, during this time, Japan should have built these Mechs a long time ago.
If not to re-enforce their military, then at least for shits n Giggles to bring their Anime's to life.
In my opinion they should have figured a system that didn't require the DRIFT system, and would have been more Safe.
Then looking at their Mechs, some of these guys had Long-Range and Short Ranged Weapons that could have killed these Kaiju in a heartbeat, yet they spend more time Scrapping with these things and punching them in the face.
The cost to re-arm these things I could understand would be costly, but thats a Bargain in comparison to having to having to remake and program a Mech to replace it.
Chenero Alpha - Had heavy Armor. Yes its a Mark1, Im amazed it survived this long with all the battles that took place before the movie. But...with the danger escalating, I KNOW they could have accommodated and Fitted the thing with some weapons. Nope, just punch things. Thats good.
Gypsy Danger - Our Hero Mech Protagonist Mark3 thingy, this thing had a Plasma Cannon! If they gave it a much larger Ammo Clip this thing could have destroyed Much More Kaiju and wouldn't need much else until it was forced in Close Quarters. But Unlike the Alpha, this thing was fitted with Jet Rockets that could help it dodge, one on the chest that could be utilized with a Deadly Death Hug. AND it had a coolent system that could be used for safety and was even used to destroy an deadly tail on a Kaiju.
Then during its reconstruction after a battle it barly won, they fitted it with 2 Swords.....that REALLY helped
Yes, Plot Plot plot, but why did the Alpha NEVER get a single upgrade!?
Red Cloud - This is a Smaller Mark 4, when they made the Mech more Digital instead of running on Nucular Energy. This thing could dodge, it was fast and flexible, and had 3 rotating blades it used for its Famed "Thunder Cloud Formation" It didn't make sense why or how it utilized 3 pilots, but dam this thing looked cool. Its sad it met its demise, but they could easily re-fit it, cause the only thing hat got destroyed was the cockpit.
Now, this thing could have used some ranged weapons itself, and it would have been even more Deadly.
Striker Eureka - No comment, this thing was a Perfect Mark5. The newest Generation of these Jeagers. It was fitted with these powerful Rocket cannons that were activated with a cool classic Pose you'd see in a power rangers or Mecha anime. And it had 2 neat swords of its own like the Gypsy Danger. This thing got some Great hits in the final battle, and apparently had the highest kill count of all the Jeagers. DO, THIS, WITH YOUR OTHER JEAGERS.
I know, 90% of them were dead. But my point stands.
The Striker and the Gypsy were the best made, if they pursued to make more Jeagers, making them just like these 2 they would have had a DEADLY force to be reckon with. And they wuld have had less Jeager Deaths. Of course unless the Rift sent more powerful Category 4s and 5s. At that point when the 5s fail, they probly send 6s and 7s...then we'd be fucked unless we started making God-Mechs, Big-0s and Transformers. lol
Im hearing they do intent to try and make a Pacific Rim 2.
My hopes, Im hoping Hollywood wont ignore the novel and bring in 2 Jeagers they forgot existed (They were apparently defending Sydney with the Striker, but they were not mentioned ONCE, and the author claims they wern't destroyed. So, they were litterally forgotten, and Could have helped in the big battle on the Pacific Rim (XD) Then they could easily refit the Red Cloud if they remembered to scavenge it. Seriously, it just needs a new head and a New OS and its fine lol

But its visually appealing, and something you'd watch if you love Eyecandy.

Also, it had lightning-powered punching fists. Those made Otachi hurt, at least.
The problem is that in that fight, the aliens knew what Jaegers they'd be fighting, and what weapons they had - Leatherback and Otachi were tailored to counter the robots' strengths.
Crimson Typhoon has three arms - Otachi has two hands and a clawed tail.
Cherno Alpha has heavy armor - Otachi has acid spit that bypasses it.
Striker Eureka is fast and potent - Leatherback's EMP shuts it down.
Gipsy Danger was benched, so it came as a surprise to the kaiju.
I may be biased, but one thing I disliked is that Australian characters were portrayed as total assholes. The pilots of Striker Eureka were meant to be antagonists. For once, I'd like a movie where Australians could actually be the hero... we had the best Jaeger, our pilots were skilled, so why couldn't WE do all the cool stuff?! uuuuggghhhh murricans
A movie that proves "Only America can save the Day"
No matter how much collaboration is going on, no matter how much better everyone else is "America pulls Main Hero Status and always wins. Even in a fight against America"
