That fursona meme
What made you choose the species of your main Character?
I was already fascinated by hyenas (and wolves) when I was a kid. Long before "The Lion King" came out hyenas, and especially spotted hyenas had caught my interest because of a documentary I've watched on TV.
But my connection to wolves was way stronger than the connection to hyenas in those days and so it happened that my first fursona I created at the age of 10 was a gray wolfess.
That's why I set my paws into the furry fandom as a wolf first. But in 2007 my life changed completely. I had to suffer great losses and was forced to start a complete new life on my own. I felt lost and couldn't connect to anything anymore.
Then I had dreams about hyenas and felt kind of being protected by these animals in a spiritual way.
It took me some time to accept all the changes but I finally went on in the shape of the spotted hyena.
The wolf is still there for me and it's still very important to me to keep her close to my heart, but the hyena is what I needed to become. A survival artist with a strong jaw to make her way.
Is your character just like you, or how you want to be?
Just like me. It wouldn't feel right to idealize myself in form of my fursona to me.
Does your character have the same personality you have?
Yes.
Does your character have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Absolutely.
Does your character look like you at all?
I tried to build her as an anthropomorphic mirror image of my real self. We share the same hair and eye color, the same build and the same clothes.
Hearing others say that she looks like me is the best compliment.
Is your character the same gender as you, if not why?
I'm female, so yes.
Do you have more then one main character?
Yes. As I said before the wolf still exists and still represents me. But there is also the Sheepdog (a doglike creature with horns of a ram) that represents me the same way. She's a very own species I created out of all physical animal attributes I like a lot like horns, a lot of fur and laaaaarge ears. I couldn't identify myself with a fictional species that good though and that's why she's not my main fursona. Just a self image I really enjoy drawing :3
And last but not least we have Pitchblack. He's not a fursona to me but still an important part of myself. He's something like my inner demon, my torture, my fears, my anger, my twisted mind but also my protector and my strength.
It's a bit difficult to describe his realationship to myself but he means a lot to me and helps me to express my feelings sometimes.
Do you have a back story for your character, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
As an anthro she lives the same life I do but she also apprears as feral. As an animal her life's different from mine of course. I was thinking up a small back story for her feral self being a fallen princess who left her clan and stuff like that but it sounded too cliché to me so I never really finished a real back story for her.
Is your character mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Yes and yes. She's mated to the fursona of my boyfriend who's an african wild dog. African couples ftw! ;D
If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
She's not a swinger no. But it's fun to pair her up with the characters of others sometimes. Those pictures shouldn't be taken too seriously though.
Is there something special about your character that you think sets them apart from others?
Maybe the fact that she's just plain and simple? No special abilities, no special powers, no special fur colors, no special anything. She's just a small and chubby hyena girl.
Do you have much art of your main character?
Yeah I guess.
Would you ever consider parting with your main character, if so why?
Not at the moment. I'm really happy with her and hope that this will last as long as possible :3
If you suit, do you have a suit of your main character?
I do! -> http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6370217/
Have you ever roleplayed with your main character, or do you prefer not to?
I created her on Second Life just for fun once but not to roleplay. It would be boring to roleplay myself, don't you think?
Do you consider your main character to be a part of you in any way?
In fact she's an important part to me. She helps me to express myself and she also stands for the spiritual connection I have to those fascinating and underrated animals C:
