Tattoos: Word of advice
... Get it where you can see it.
::nods firmly::
I have a giant blue wolf on my back and I literally constantly forget I have it.
I'll be talking to someone about tattoos and I'll be looking at theirs, and I'll be very giddy and fan-girly about it and suddenly sport out
" Oh geez, I could NEVER do that! I bet it hurt like hell!! GOSH!! YOUZ IZ AMAZING FOR GETTING ONE! OHMUHGOSH"
Then they stare at me....and stare at me..
"Nire...You have a giant, 10 inch one on your back."
Me- ::derp face::...::blink::.....::blink blink::....::blinkblinkblinkblink:: ...::meanwhile the hamster that's in the wheel in my head is so slow and chubby he's close to having a cardiac arrest:: .....O.O
Me- OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!
Also, I wish it was a horse.
I don't regret it-because I got it simply because I didn't think I was strong enough TO get it. And I was. Which surprised me. Which is good.
One day, I'm going to have a giant draft horse somewhere.
I'm thinkin' a sleeve.
BUT SOMEWHERE I CAN SEE IT!
::nods::
.......P.S. Although, while thinking of tattoos, I TOTALLY JUST REMEMBERED that I have a ring tattoo, too.
Maybe I'm just senile! LOL!! :isadork:
FA+

I love them but @_@ I'm such a baby with pain
Seriously.
I am a big big baby!
If I can do it, you can!
I am serious! I pass out during blood draws and sometimes vaccines!!!
( I'm not sure how painful wrists are..hmm...I'd imagine they wouldn't be any where near as bad as say...an ankle or hands...or...neck XD)
(I think there's a guide somewhere that'll tell you which body parts have the most pain reception..)
Either way, I have confidence in you!
I'd even go with if I could!
Legs are a good place for tattoos. Pain isn't TOO terribly horrible, and aside from the funny spot of non shaved hair as it's healing, they are visible, and can be covered if needed.
The arms IMO are a commitment. I have one on each shoulder (seen herehttp://www.furaffinity.net/view/7197582/ and herehttp://www.furaffinity.net/view/8623401/)
I noticed RIGHT away after the first one (the star fish) that people were looking at me differently, kind of oddly actually....that was until I changed my hair color to violet..Once I "matched" I stopped getting weird stares and got more "Oh is it a sea turtle!?" or "I like your hair!" or "So what are those things"
It's weird.
For my B-Day (the 19th of this month, the big 2-9) I am going to get my right sleeve finished up. It won;t be a complete wrap around sleeve, but more like the completion of a theme and I am interested what the other humans I occasionally interact with at the store and such will do with that kind of thing LOL.
People are weird.
Also my ex Best friend got a tattoo she loved, then got bullied into changing it and had it covered which I thought was insulting to my tattoo artist, and shortly after that got another large on on her arm. She works a traditional job and never had the weird stares like I did. SO idk...maybe it;s because she's petite, blond and has big boobs.
I have big boobs too, but am no where near petite...
sorry, rabbit trail.
TL;DR I Agree, get one where you can see it, it;s more fun, and you should get your Draft horse on your leg somewhere I think :)
I really love that starfish! Really well done and the bird is lovely too! I just think it's awesome you have so many tattoos! I love them and I feel that looking at other peeps's tattos really helps get to know them!!
On my leg?? hmmm... That's doable! Visible but more easily covered!
(Although, I'll be honest I wear long sleeve 99% of the time even in hot weather!) So, where most people, a sleeve would be really noticeable, I hide my arms most of the time.
BUT- I do like less pain! haha
Oh well, no where near a point in my life were I could get a new one anyway :P
Y'know, when I had teh one on my back it wasn't bad until baout the 5th hour and he was going over places repeatedly...
Also when it got high on my neck THAT hurt more...
NOT as bad as my brain thought it would be :)
I'm thinking about getting a 1/2 sleeve though so maybe people will actually realize I have them! Just got my nose pierced and the shop had a mini voluntary questionnaire. I ticked yes for "tattoos, piercings, ect." and the counter guy smiled at me all goofy like "naaaahhh" :'3 Little girl has a tattoo, sir, not lying. Now stab me with that huge scary needle pls.
Oh how was the nose peircing?!
(I've been really wanting a piercing for years but I'm pretty apprehensive about it....)
"stab me with that huge scary needle pls" LOL! hehehe You're tough!! :D
Although where I live I feel it would be hard to find a good one....seems like mostly slap-dash places here.. hmm..
Also, I'm really timid about personal space but when I see tattoos I turn into this giant spider monkey, leaning in and just...I love tattoos!
Oh dear... XD
Im on the road to getting a rib tatoo c:
Oh my goodness gracious you are a trooper! I....owie, I imagine that would be excruciating ( I'm not helping!) BUT some of the most beautiful BEAUTIFUL tattoos that I've seen are on the side, or ribs so..
I'd say, it would most likely be worth it!
I just want some like.... watercolour splas.. thing on my ribs with some typewriter type text over it c: nothing too labourious and the good thing is I can just get the water colour part done. Cry. And then get the text done in stages if its that bad XD
Waiting is good!! Waiting is very good and really just...committing to it mentally!
You can get one on your back if you'd like! Don't make me persuade you otherwise if you're really sure.
I guess I'm just saying that I really wish I did put it somewhere visible... Only person who sees it is my mate XD
Oh wow never met a tattoo artist before! That's really awesome!! :D I love your profession! I just think it's wonderful! I am a fan!
haha well I guess, gosh I don't know!
I could probably have one on my forehead and I'd forget it too... XD
There's a lot of ins and outs to the political side of the profession, and I'm still learning them. It's frustrating. My mentor was a loner, she knows the ins, but because she didn't socialize with anyone I never learned them. Except to not 'toestep'.
That's a very good idea! Great advice!!
( I guess I just say sleeve because I wear long-sleeves 99% of the time XD so...for me it would be hidden, but I understand!)
I'd most likely forget I had a sleeve too.....honestly...XD So I don't really blame you there!
