So......Life....

Firstly, I owe people an apology. I've been away from my life here on FA for way longer then I thought possible. Mostly because I nearly checked my FA on a constant basis, hoping beyond hope and praying beyond belief that I would get a comment, or a fave of some kind towards something that I drew and posted up here. It's not easy for me to draw something and then show it off. I get a small confidence boost, I'll admit, when I post something up here. And even if the comments are not flattering, it still helps me out more than you could possibly know.
So, the last journal I did, was in July of 2013, about 7 months ago. That was really, honestly, the last time I was on FA religiously. I had just gotten a new job that took up 40 hours of my week +driving and traffic time it took to get to work and back. Not complaining, it was a good job, until they fired me for calling in sick...once....<.<" But I can't really be mad about that whole thing. I was allowed to go on vacation during my 90 day probationary period (not like they could have stopped me. I had already paid for the trip to Disneyland with my boyfriend, Dizzy Fox) and I had, literally, the time of my life. It had been over 10 years since Dizz had been to Disneyland, and I hadn't been since at least 2007. I felt like a kid again, experiencing everything and just embracing the magic and wonder and joy that Disneyland always gave me. It's always felt like my home away from home, and it always feels like I'm saying goodbye to a dear dear friend that I rarely see anymore when I leave. Except this time, when I left, I left with a small ring on my left hand.
So here's the gushy part for those of you who don't want to read, you can skip it: :P
It was the day after my mother's birthday in August. Since we were in Disneyland, I had done this "Photo Scavenger Hunt" to find as many hidden Mickeys as I could. My mom Loves Mickey Mouse; It's the running joke in the family that Mickey is Mom's Not-So-Secret Boyfriend. So the idea was to post as many hidden Mickeys as we could find, while Dizz and I traveled around the park, and post them on Facebook where my mom could see them throughout the day. The 'story' being that the big Cheese himself had a surprise for us, and we were supposed to find him in the parks (I know, super cheesy, but my mom loved it. She even made a book about the whole thing that really brightened my day). When we finally did find Mickey on Main Street USA, we had him hold a banner that said "Happy Birthday!" while Dizz and I wore Mickey Mouse Party hats. It was corny, and dumb, but like I said, mom loved it. While we were doing this hunt for mom's boyfriend thing for her birthday, we kept getting our pictures taken by the photographers around Disneyland. We had decided that the Disney's Photo Pass was a great idea, so by the end of the day, we were pro's at knowing where to stand, where to look, what poses they would probably ask of us and where to go to get these pictures. So the next day, the day after mom's birthday, I wasn't at all surprised when Dizz wanted to get pictures with this Photo Pass that we had. We got a couple while we were on rides, a few in front of attractions, and so on. It was fun. I mentioned to him later in the day, that I had never seen the fireworks from in front of the Castle before (I had always watched Fantasmic off to the side of the castle at the River's of America area, and since I would have seen Fantasmic, it was near impossible to get all the way in front of the castle fast enough to get a good spot to view the fireworks from in front of the Castle....so I had always viewed them from where I had seated myself for Fantasmic) and since we were not going to see Fantasmic that evening (we saw it the night before, Dizz for the first time) I thought it'd be nice to get a spot early in front of the castle. Dizz agreed and we made our way over there. It was just before sunset when we finally got there, and he had this great idea to get our picture taken in front of the castle...again...cause we'd done it about 10 times before. So I said "Sure, why not" and went to the designated spot where the Photo Pass photographers want you to stand to take the pictures. He came over a moment later, after talking with the photographer and stood next to me...Facing me. Now, I knew the drill by now, so I was expecting him to turn towards the camera, so it was a little weird he was facing me, and making me face him...And then I started seeing this flashing to my side and the first thing, no joke, that went through my head was "Oh god...This guy is at the end of his shift...he just wants to go home...we're probably the last people he has to take pictures of...lets hurry and get something nice, cause I'm sure none of these pictures are going to turn out cause we're not looking at him"....So I ask Dizz "Hon,...what are you doing?" trying to smile and turn him a little, before he drops to one knee and says "What do you think I'm doing." I literally died. I swear I couldn't breathe and everything just kind of stopped. There are about a thousand pictures of me standing there with my jaw on the floor, my hands trying to cover it, before I finally lean forward and kiss him and say yes. In reality, I'm damn near passing out and have to grab him to stay standing. It's only after about 30 seconds of realizing that I just got proposed to, by my best friend of 7 years, when he turns to the crowd that I completely forgot was there and shouts "She Said Yes!" to which I nearly have a heart attack at the 5-700 people who have never met me, or Dizz, or know us at all, and they are all cheering and clapping. It was the most memorable and a little embarrassing thing to have ever happened to me. I found out later that he had been planning this for 3 years...as long as we had been planning this trip to Disneyland.
So after all of that, I had to find a new job to attempt to figure out a way to pay for this upcoming wedding that I was now going to have to think about. So my artwork, has taken to the back burner this entire time, because when I did finally get a new job, it's again a 40+ hour a week thing, and it keeps me very busy every day. I have 2 days off a week, which I guess is normal, but they are usually Monday and Wednesday, so I never feel like I get a "weekend" to relax. I'm also hosting an Ironclaw (a tabletop Role Playing game, similar to Dungeons and Dragons, if you didn't know) game with my friends that also takes up a lot of my time. So between family wanting to see the ring, and wanting details about the wedding that I'm planning as I go, work, game, and so on....FA has really been neglected. And for that I apologize.
I also feel like I owe a few people money, mostly because they've purchased something from me, and I was unable to deliver in a timely manner. These people know who they are, and I'll be messaging them later about arranging refunds. It was never my intention to ignore customers or not make good on my promises. I'm not that kind of person, and it bothers me a lot that that has happened. Believe it or not, I actually lose sleep over it, because it's something that I sincerely never wanted to happen at all. A sincere apology really isn't enough to make it right, so again, I'll be messaging the parties in question to set it right again.
With that.......On to 2014! I'm excited because my Fiance (still feels weird to call him that X3) and I are thinking that late September/Early October 2015 will be the time frame of when we can get married. Mostly due to finances; Weddings are expensive, and unfortunately, we just can't afford to get married in 2014 like a "normal" couple would ("Normal" meaning, getting married 6months to a year after being engaged....we have to wait 2 years..). I also want to dust off my sketchbooks again, and perhaps do a few livestreams while I'm at it. I miss drawing and I almost feel like I've ignored a friend by not doodling in my sketchbooks. So for those who care, that's what's up with me. ^.^ <3 I hope you all have had a wonderful new year and holiday, and I wish for nothing but the best for 2014 for you!
<3 Luv,
Fiory
