Basically, some people don't like one of the staff because of the stuff he's done in the past, and how other admins censor it when people call it out. And it flared up with the recent thing about Phoenix.

from what I understand an admin is being accused of rape and people on here started calling him a rapist among other things and the site started banning them for saying it I think? or something like that I dunno I personally really don't like weasyl so it kinda suck that's where everyone is going

People seem to think leaving a website that's rather very broadly owned and not a tight-knit community because of something one of the site owners did off-site will do something other than make their presence less known or unknown.

Dragoneer told a girl not to report her sexual assault experience and the note leaked. everyone forgot about it for like a year and then the guy she was going to report is now a major staff member. People bringing it up got banned/suspended/comments hidden if they accused/called out the guy.

Other people mostly don't care who the staff is, but want to use to a more modern site with more features and that actually works on mobile devices.

People are upset/angry due to the choice of one of the people who's on the development team for Project Phoenix, the site layout redo, because they were part of a nasty situation which happened 4-5 years ago, and was a private matter that was leaked in 2010 when Dragoneer's notes were hacked.

People are being suspended/banned, having comments hidden and journals removed because they're saying things about that said person which is against the ToS/CoC as it constitutes legal libel since no charges were pressed and no police report was filed, and if FA's admins did nothing about it and the person in question wanted to hire a lawyer they could try and sue FA for not stopping it, and likely win. So instead FA is removing comments and journals that are saying these things, warning users, and suspending users who wont stop, banning users who've had a set number of suspensions, or ignored all warnings.

a lot of it is the principal of the thing. being banned/hidden/redirected for talking about it (links in my journal were redirected when they worked previously and they're not even drama-related?)

someone who lied about their credentials is held on the team despite everyone knowing shit would happen (because he is the only one who can code!!)

it's rly stupid

people just got tired of it
