Leaving FA Forever Journal

In our last journal we wrote it was going to be a break, but after further discussion with people, we've decided to just leave. We where trying to do the "diplomatic" thing, but in retrospect, it feels like the "flake out" thing. This isn't the sort of situation that we should be worried about pleasantries over. We've been around since '08 and it's become quite clear that this sort of thing isn't going to change. We put up with it because we love you guys, but we don't love this. It doesn't just make us feel "uncomfortable", it makes us feel angry and it makes us feel threatened.
FA's been pretty ban-happy against people who speak out, mention or think about this issue, so it's a good thing that >> we have a tumblr that can't be censored if we wanted to talk about this issue. <<.

We will not be checking FA after our commissions are done
Please no drama in the comments. If you're genuinely cool with this, that's your prerogative, just as it's ours to not be. You guys have been really great and you've made our time here really awesome, it has expanded our minds artistically and socially in a very real way and we will look back on this experience with only fondness. It is our hope we will be able to continue it with you somewhere else, but we understand if that can't be the case.
If you've got a commission pending, you can still reach us by note and we will drop you a note when it's done and where you can get it.

As for proof. No one can really link anything on site without getting banned. You'll need to go find it yourself.

All I ask that when you do leave, you keep your account open and on the main page you set up links to ways to see your art and commission you for when we want to. I know I do one day.

The main problem is that it's just taken me so long to accumulate one hundred watchers; I don't want to have to do it all over again.
Though it is all up to you, I wish you luck in whichever decision you make. :>
I have an art tag called sbneko'sart, so if you tag it you'll get notified on the side of your dashboard. I don't quite remember how to track them since tumblr has updated since then but I'm sure it's easy to find on google.
I was already on weasyl before all this, and I'm looking forward to the increase in traffic hopefully sticking this time.
Seems like it's just fanning the flames.
It's a shame to see such talented artists and writers leave, but I understand why. Perhaps I'll check out this weasyl place soon so I can keep up with everybody?

Unfortunately, I am just getting into art as my main source of income and I don't think weasyl offers enough yet for me to drop FA completely. But hot damn, I applaud you for being an artist that makes a lot of good money here and STILL deciding to leave. So much respects.
I hope I can follow suit in the future.
I would suggest to start posting stuff there anyways and gathering followers. In time, it'll happen.

While you may not *agree* with issues, you are in fact supporting them through your actions (posting art, remaining here, not bringing attention to the issues). You're bringing traffic to this site with your art and also telling your clients that they should stay here as well. Whether you like it or not you're sending a message. Posting on a site that promotes a sexual predator is like eating at chic-fil-a; you're giving your time and your reputation to a company that acts in deplorable and disgusting ways.

This whole debacle just gives me a case of the heeblie jeeblies.
Also. Tumblr. I keep trying to get into it, but it's just such a cluttered mess. And no comment system or anything? I just don't get it's huge appeal to people. I've followed people though, and I slog through stuff on occasion. xD
I love your guy's artwork. And totally respect the decision.
I'll be slowly migrating away too. Just sticking around for a few artists who haven't decided to leave yet. :/

Regardless, a lot of people demanding "hard proof" are just looking to excuse such behavior anyway. No conviction, no crime, as some are liking to say.
If many other popular artists just said "I won't stand for this" instead of doing the whole "It's not my problem" thing, then maybe this wouldn't have gotten so bad. As far as I'm concerned...It wasn't really anybody's problem but the people involved until.....FA kinda made it our problem...

and you're in a situation where you don't have to be here, then it is entirely within your rights to leave.
(heck, I didn't do business with a local Sonic for 2 years after I asked for ketchup, and got to work, and found they actually didn't give me any. I had other options. And they had made me mad)
And you guys are so awesome for doing this!
The hardest thing about all this (for me) is watching so many people not understanding that this actually does concern them and isn't just silly furry drama :C
The admin team will not change their horrid ways unless we put our foot down and say "Enough"... why should they?

It just landed on my Tumblr dash doing all the uproar, and I think it makes it all of this a even sadder.
I would have loved to see what the other team could have made + it would have been without a drama bomb installed.
You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. Many people are tired of the way things are being done and the lack of respect, refusal to change and outright abuse from the admins. It has been made clear to us that we don't matter and are not really welcome here, that this site isn't really for the people on it. We are choosing to move on to something better.
