so, i am slightly confused, and want answers.

VEIWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED First off, I realize that FA's downtime was longer than expected, what... a month ago now? And I also know that this website is extremely significant to artists, and such... nothing we can do about that, it's in the past, and the admins worked HARD to get it back online.
BUT what is it with so many people putting up journals about their "departure" from FA? Everyone keeps on making statements that make it seem as if something catastrophic happened, that I completely missed.
So what is it? What is it that is making people so uncomfortable with being on this site any longer?
I feel out of the loop.
Also, opinions on project phoenix?

The thing that's making everyone upset and uncomfortable is the fact that Zaush is in charge of this project. It has to do with a very serious incident in the past between Zaush and another member of FA, Dragoneer's immediate defense of Zaush, and how putting Zaush in a position of power makes a lot of people's safety feel threatened. Unfortunately, I can't go into any more detail, because FA has been suspending people who talk about it, because it constitutes "harassing a staff member." That's why you're confused... we're not even really allowed to say the reason.

OK, I did some searching, and I understand now. But still, why would disliking the web designer, and not the web design, cause people to leave?
