Weasyl reminder
As most of the people artist I follow are migrating to Weasyl, I may end up leaving FA completely too.
I can be found here https://www.weasyl.com/~sakovri and once I get around reviving my dormant account in dA, I'll be there too.
And while I have no strong opinion on the new FA-staff member with certain crime accusations (because there isn't really any evidence available for me, so I'm not against of for it), I'm pissed at how staff is handling the situation - banning and cencoring people who talk about it - and how they have talked about the whole case, the new staff member especially. It's disgusting.
Can be seen here, at least until cencored: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5423517/
I _do_ understand the need of cutting wings from rumours or stopping a witch hunt, but it's not done this way, you're not supposed to just silence people and not talk about it yourself either.
Nor do you belittle it and make rape jokes about it.

Any DECENT, sane website administration knows that what you DON'T DO is hire anyone surrounded by controversy. Nothing personally against the controversy holder, it's just that if a website takes them on they have to accept the consequence of users not shutting the Hell up about it.

True. While a person's possible crimes aren't something that should be in public (as nasty as it feels), that was already old knowledge when the hiring happened. They could have at least announced the issue themselves instead of hoping no one would have brought it up. How likely would that even be. :P

I guess my point here is hiring someone with a known offensive controversy that will no doubt piss everyone off and doing anything possible to keep them even as the drama explodes is not generally something I've seen go on at other professional free to use websites.

Yup, pretty dumb all in all.
