Basically a few years ago, when notes got linked, User A accused User B of doing some nasty stuff. Drama was around for a bit, then died down. Well, now User B is like, a lead developer or something so old drama has now returned. Mixed with how FA has handled the drama, people's reactions to it, and general irk, more drama arose and for some, this is the last straw.

But then what is all this about sexual predators and all these other really ridiculous things I have been reading on angry journals?

That would be the nasty stuff.

Basically a few years back, notes got leaked including a user's notes to 'Neer asking for advice about User Blank. She claims that he did things that would have been considered by many to be rape. He advices her not to make a big deal about it without some proof due to Blank being a very well known. Others ended up coming out that Blank had done similar to them. Drama came and went.

Fast forward to present day. User Blank is announced as being part of the new elite team working on Project Phoenix (which they've been talking about since forever, but that's another issue). People got upset, remembering the old drama. Hate erupts on the comments. Comments accusing Blank of anything, or even agreeing with the idea that this was a bad idea was deleted and people got suspensions for "harassing staff."

So some people are leaving because of him being in what could be seen as a position of power. Others are leaving because many users have been saying either incorrect (it didn't happen if it didn't get convicted in court) to just downright mean and offensive things. And some are leaving because of the way that staff is handling the trouble (even comments or journals saying too much about the drama are getting yanked).

So there ya go, hope that clears it up enough with me staying in the safe zone. ^_^;;;;

Good gods, I hate drama. Me, I am staying put, I don't have time nor the energy to move my entire gallery and, after all, this storm too will pass.

There's actually a lot of tools out there to make it easier. I don't have links off hand, unfortunately. But there's an addon for Chrome to upload to Weasyl and FA at the same time, tools to help you look up FA names on Weasyl to see if they're there or not, tools to help mass uploads, etc.

And agreed, hate drama. But alas. I do really enjoy Weasyl though. It's got folders, blocking by tags. I have some issues with it since it can be a little confusing and their rating system is pretty conservative. But I enjoy it and it was already my main account. :)
