Due to my health problems, I didn't spent so much time online so I missed the whole FA drama thing.
So I may be a bit late to the party, but this is my thoughts about this :

Otherwise I noticed that many people watched me on Weasyl lately : I'm not using this site so far.
I've nothing against it, but I'm not using it for a good reason : the flash (.swf) files management is very poor. There's no way to display a flash file onto the website window, (like on FA, Sofurry... and any other website, actually). Flash embedding is something very basic, I didn't know why Weasyl can't manage that.
I looked at Weasyl's forums about this problem, and I'm not the first one to ask. I was told that it will probably never change (for bullshit security reasons), but "We'll try to look at it!".
Well, maybe I'll start to use the site one day (To post some stuff and to watch people there), if this problem is fixed !
I won't leave FA if it happens, though.

Any data submitted to Fur Affinity, including your password, including your Private Messages, is NOT SECURE.
And this is not news! Unless the code is rewritten and some sort of https is implemented, the question is not if more private info will be leaked but when. And December '13 will not be the last long outage either.

There have been patches here and there, yes, but most of the fixes are remedial, damage control and a new coat of paint instead of proper service. Just read the reason why Zaush is planning a full rewrite of the site on his latest journal. If you still are turning a blind eye that FA is insecure, well... that's plain naivety or more likely denial.

I've had a sudden influx of new watchers over there as well. I don't plan on leaving, but I have it as backup in case FA is offline.

Just ignore it for a while long, as best as you can, and soon we won't have to hear about it anymore as the problem will resolve via people who it actually seriously involves actions. ^^ Then we can all return to normal and actually enjoy being furs without drama once more.

But, wow, you actually have one valid reason to not use the site. It is bullshit! Shockwave flash is embedded in Facebook and it is a secure platform.

I've kept my yap shut for a while on this drama, for fear of basically being ripped apart by both sides, since i won't take up arms with either. In situations like that, people tend to treat anyone not in agreement is against them, violently, and so neutrals or apathetic end up being torn up by both sides. XP
... Also, it took FA like six years to put in a basic search feature. So if you're skeptical over whether the people at Weasyl know how to run an art site, just keep that in mind.
With me as a writer though, and the absolutely appalling process and format of uploading text submissions, there's literally no reason for me to post here.
Anyway, it's good to hear from you. I may watch you there, not sure yet :)
What IS relevant, though, is that he's been put in charge of redesigning FA despite knowing little to nothing about coding. Yeah.
I kept saying I'll leave, but to be honest, I now want to stick around to see what happens. If it ever gets done, anyway, lol.
