When I do commissions, I take payments upfront and dont start on nor post the commission till they pay in full if they are doing partial payments.

It's beyond just payment, I just added one additional condition to my terms of service, and the client breaches it and gets away with it

While I won't send pitchforks and torches towards them, I will definitely not work with them (or many other clients in this category) in the future

It's not worth the meager payment and the frustration that comes from it

Something of a loss to the community, because someone disobeyed one simple rule, that they agreed to at the time of making the commission.
I guess I'm not the only one wondering what this rule was... but I respect your right to privacy if it's not something you want to spread all over the internet.

I don't think people should be prying too much about the reason or what the term specifically was, I can imagine a number of things that would enrage me as a designer of something and I completely understand how some of those things may cause him to just go "fuck this shit" I have a feeling I would do in his shoes.

I think that it may be risky to reveal it cause that may unintentionally "leak" the perpetrators identity as well eventually and cause all sorts of bother later so I get why Rawr would choose to just keep it to himself.

Whoever they are I hope the universe punishes them somehow for it, and I think you deserve that people stop fucking with you. People need to show some gratitude to the few who are actually responsible for custom toy designs existing in the first place (especially now with all the shit-throwing and copying going on), on that you have done a lot and deserve respect for. And I don't think you're being shown the respect you deserve tbh considering the contribution your work has made to the community as a whole.

You've been around the block enough times to know by now that, in the absence of a formalized agreement via signed contract, a comission is the property of the person paying for it to use as they see fit. You're not new to the scene and shoud have learned long ago that if you wish to stipulate and have some control over how your designs are used or who their used by that a verbal agreement doesn't cut it and a paper trail via signed contract with legal names of those involved is essential.
