So... that happened.
An old case that shouldn't be made public in the first place came back through administration's quite stupid decision. (seriously Mr. Dragoneer, what were you thinking was going to happen?! It's the INTERNET!)
And people started acting stupid.
Cause you know, Internet.
Some people left, some stay... But if that was all, we why would I need to write this?
Because people decide that the best way to discuss such a difficult subject, would be to turn of their brains and start throwing shit at each other!
This is a pretty normal thing on the Interwebz as you may know already. (no, it's not native to furries and FA as some of you might say)
But... this time it really bothers me.
It bothers me, because the subject is serious.
It bothers me, because friendships are being destroyed over that.
It bothers me... no. It PISSES ME OFF, because people, who've been persecuted for being who they are, furries, homosexuals, transgender people, are now using the same reasoning to persecute other people.
All of us, directly or not, have been judged by others, who used false claims, manipulated fact, misinterpretations and things taken out of context to show the group we associate with in negative light.
All furries are zoophiles, all homosexuals are pedophiles, all Polish people are thieves, all Americans are idiots, all left-wing people are Commies, all right-wing people are Nazis.
People use what they believe is proof, to justify the campaign of hate.
This proof is usually something a member of that group said or did.
„This person is a pedophile AND homosexual, therefore all homosexuals are pedophiles as well!”
I've heard that argument many times. Way to many.
There is also „proof” based on something someone written, claiming it was based on scientific research.
„This scientist, who coincidentally supports Conservative Republican Christian Party Of United States of Bullshitistan, written a very in-depth, 20 pages long, nicely worded article, explaining why all people who live in Johnsonville, Illinois (if that's a real place, I'm sorry!) are Communists and should be hanged.”
It's 20 pages long, nicely worded, the author is a scientist... it must be true! Right?

Bullshit shaped into a nice form, polished and covered in glitter is still bullshit.
These are just attempts on justyfing the hate, the mudslinging, the lynching and the persecussion of those, who they don't like or have different opinion.
If you don't base what you believe on actual facts, actual documents, actual, unbiased research, SOLID PROOF that cannot be denied... then it's not a fact. It's an OPINION.
And you cannot justify breaking the law with and opinion.
FA and furry fandom in general is a collection of all sorts of people, various nationalities, beliefs, gender, sexual preferences, kinks...
So... why THE FUCK are you using the SAME METHODS that were used against you, to do the exact SAME FUCKING THING against other members of the community?!
Since when something someone wrote on the Internet and posted on their Twitter, Tumblr or anywhere else ANONYMOUSLY is an undeniable proof of something?
It's not.
I can right now take a screencap of the comment section for this journal, manipulate the comments in Photoshop so they will be proof CommentFurry20938 eats babies. Then I'll delete the journal and post the screencap on Tumblr along with a long post about CommentFurry20938 eating babies and how you should all be ashamed. And CommentFurry20938 can't deny it! The journal would be deleted, so he can't prove that comment didn't exist. I will have the screencap, so it will be a proof! Oh, I can also claim that admin deleted the journal because CommentFurry20938 is secretly their lover.
They probably eat babies together.
Also, the fact that someone proven to be a douche on multiple occassions doesn't automatically make him a criminal. Douchebaggery haven't been outlawed yet, sadly.
If that was the case... I could accusse ALL OF YOU who got involved in the flame war of being baby eaters. Cause you're all douchebags.

The only proof of something happening is the original note.
The note none of us should've seen, because it was a PRIVATE CONVERSATION that got leaked and posted because of hacking.
Hacking is illegal. Leaked notes are undeniable proof of a crime happening.
We are all 'hack apologists' now. Much rejoice.
The point is... you are all, those who 'support the victim' and those who 'support the accused' are treating your OPINIONS as FACTS and justifying BREAKING THE SITE'S RULES, the rules your AGREED upon as you joined the site.
And then you scream „OMG CENSORSHIP!” when you get suspended.
And then you scream „DOUBLE STANDARDS!” when what you're doing is justifying your actions with the fact you BELIEVE you're right.
So you can publicly insult another user, or entire userbase, because you're right, but they cannot, cause they're wrong?
STOP.

Stop screaming, stop throwing shit at each other, stop insulting the other side.
Stop guilt tripping and bribing people to stay/leave.
