I guess back up depositories are a good thing, but man, there are so many options these days that I wonder if it's just time an artist is loosing to sharing that could be better spent creating more artworks. Maybe someone should develop a program or service that uploads to multiple galleries. I could definitely see a market for users and potential customers.

Personally I'd prefer a single reliable system like what Blogspot was that allows everyone to make their space just what they want and send watchers updates and allow users to organize favs and submissions across the board. A spot that allowed users to upload whatever they want content wise.
Though your idea of an interlinking program like ones we've seen to handle multiple chat programs would probably be a more efficient solution in the current environment.

I agree. Blogs are definitely an excellent alternative to on-line gallery sites. Your audience can receive updates at their own leisure as you post. Most have more accommodating terms and rules than gallery sites, so it's just smart distribution for all.
