I smell a rat. Give them one more week, keep trying to reach them. If no reply after a week, put the word out. I hope they reply *hugs*

Yeah I'm trying to be patient, because I wouldn't want to ruin their rep, (theyre decently well known),
and/or cause drama, but I am getting frustrated :c

It depends on how patient you are I suppose. I know or know of a lot of artists who are perhaps not as motivated or professional as some others are. They lose interest in creating new art or are just extremely slow about it. I guess one question is, is the art they are uploading things that were actually done more recently? Or were they done during the con or came before your commission? The thing that makes it fairly unacceptable is that they are not answering your note or email. I personally give a pretty large amount of time, because I feel the benefit of the doubt is important. I second giving another week for them to contact you.

I've had pretty rotten times trying to commission people, so I usually never do as a result. In one instance, an artist in the Artist Alley of Anthrocon took my money for a couple commissions, was supposed to have it done by the end of the con, let me know they wouldn't in the end and would upgrade my commissions and mail them. It took literally 2 years, and the entire time I was super polite, but insistent, contacting once every 1 to 3 months. They never added me to a list on FA, and also just weren't doing any of the art they were commissioned for for almost anyone, while still going to cons and taking on more. Finally for the last like 6 months of it, I was just asking for a refund and eventually got it once I started laying out more serious consequences for them. (they borrowed the money from other people on FA)

To add to that; in the situation I described, I still don't think it was done maliciously. I think it was someone with a lot of personal and emotional problems, young, who didn't know when to quit or admit the reality that they just weren't motivated to actually do any work. They probably also liked the popularity that being an artist of okay talent going to/selling at all the big cons brought them, and didn't want to cut that off.

This is a decently popular/well known artist, so I just expected better than this. I would feel so much better if they just said
they were busy and they'd get to mine eventually, but they haven't. I see theyre posting new art for others, so why not
just say SOMETHING to me. I have admired their art for a while (their commissions always get sold out before I can nab one online),
so I'm pretty disappointed that I got the chance to get one, and it's going this way :/ She told me she's have them done and mailed
out within a week...
