too much clutter?

Not really. I'm just getting rid of whatever I can before I croak, because my will states that any of my artwork still in my possession after I kick the bucket is to be destroyed/disposed of. This includes anthro and non-anthro material.

I don't plan on dying anytime soon, but I figure I might as well get a jump on it while I still can, rather than have family and friends get burdened with having to sort crap out after they chuck my ashes into the wind. Just getting rid of any extra stuff I don't really need (also donating lots of stuff to some local charities, especially winter clothing and stuff like that).

Sounds kinda grim, but I'm just planning ahead, man.

Being prepared is always good, but you don't feel this is a bit "too" prepared. Almost pre-destined.

I've got a LOT of material here that I would rather deal with now than to stick my family with it. I also just want to be prepared. Let's face it, I'm an avid motorcyclist. That fact alone increases my odds of getting creamed by a cement truck astronomically. Add to that mix the fact that I'm a double-transplant recipient, and factor in the problems caused by the medications I have to take for that (not to mention the suppressed immune system), and you've got an exponentially higher risk of "untimely demise" than the average joe would have to deal with. Just trying to stay one or two steps ahead, man. If there's one thing my medical emergencies from last year taught me, it's to tie up loose ends and plan for the eventuality.

I draw a lot more than just anthro art, man. I've uncovered about 250 different drawings of designs and diagrams for various bike projects (for my own bikes or for friend's bikes). Landscapes are car sketches aren't too big (luckily), as I usually get those on the first try.

On second thought, I'm considering some kind of Weekend at Bernie's-style operation.

What brought on this decision? Also why is it when ever you decide to do something like this I've already spend my monthly "fun money"?

Just sorting through stuff. Meeting with a fellow tomorrow afternoon to square away my funeral arrangements, got a will written up and all that fun crap. My health was in much worse shape than I stated over the last few months, and although I'm well on the mend now, it dawned on me that I need to unload a lot of my stuff. After all, when the time finally comes, it's not like you can take it with you!

So this is just a head start for me; I'm gonna try to get everything kosher during this year, so that (when the time eventually comes) there'll be that much less for others to have to deal with.

Well I would love to take some of it off your hands. Specifically the anthropomorphic stuff. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of Genus Spotlight On Skunkworks #2 laying around, would you? I have a copy Ed Zolna sold to me but its a little worn. Are you planing on getting rid of your master copies of the folios? Perhaps next month I can take some of it off your hands?

Yeah, I'll be getting rid of pretty much everything. It'll take many months, no doubt, as there's quite a bit of it filed away. Still sorting through boxes of stacked art, and I've been doing that for longer than I care to admit!

I'd love to buy some of the folios I am missing from my collection if you have them. I am assuming you have all the masters still. I would like to buy all of those but I doubt I can afford that. When do you think you'll be able to whip up a list? Also I know this is random but wouldn't it be awesome/somewhat creepy if you made a Penance stuffed animal to sell? lol

I don't have many portfolio originals left; I've auctioned off most of them over the past 15 years. Still sorting through things, but I'll try to get a list together this week. Still got some hand tremors, but they're pretty minimal now, so it looks like I'll be able to start drawing again in a week or two (crosses fingers).

There was research done on a Penance doll at one time a couple years ago. I decided it would be better to not add fuel to that fire, haha!

Yeah, my health is improving each day. Gaining back muscle pretty quick, and my latest labs indicated better numbers for several things. It had just occurred to me to start auctioning my stuff off now. Probably got that idea because of tomorrow's meeting with the undertaker (haha!!).

No offense taken, since the photo, quite frankly, doesn't do the actual image justice.
Taking a photo of your own leg at an angle isn't the easiest process, and the result looks tilted and misshapen. If you were to see it in person, you might change your mind, because it's actually a very nice looking piece.

Arm. leg. It looks horrendous in that picture. If I had a tattoo that bad I'd never uncover it.

Yeah, sometime I might have someone else take the picture at an angle where the curve of my calf muscle doesn't distort things.
As it is, I get to see it "in the flesh" and am quite satisfied.

Started reducing my stuff after my dad passed. Makes sense to me; to reduce the odds and ends that each person's family has to go through. Be looking into the will thing shortly myself as OTR driving can be a bit unexpected.

Yeah; I plan on getting 2 (maybe 3, if there's time) of my bikes finished this year. At least then, if I die at some point (hopefully far off into the future), my family will be able to sell them and get the most money for them as possible. Can't really do that when the bikes are in pieces...

Well As long as you keep drawing as long as possible. That isnt a bad idea, Others will be able to get a chance to look at it still.

This is why I like keeping my stuff digital. Maybe I can set things up so my gravestone has an external hard drive in it with all the data from my life stored on it.

Well, I'm not gonna have a grave stone as I'll be getting cremated, but I've always preferred physical to digital. Then again, I'm kinda old-fashioned like that.

Its still in Jims hands. As he has said his health has been in the way. I can't print anything until he gives it to me.

There are still several pages that need to be inked and cover artwork that needs to be completed. Once I can ink (and have it not look like Michael J. Fox did it), I'll be able to finish those pages up and get everything sent to AVP. Chill, my good man. It'll happen.

Oh pish toosh. Yer not getting rid of the artwork. You are making sure that it is in the safe hands of people who love it. THat you get a little compensation (hopefully a LOT) to keep stuff paid up and off, is icing on the cake. >.> I'll see what I can afford that's for certain.
