Good News: I got my computer back! Bad news...

... it's more broken then ever! Don't ever buy from CyberPower PC! They're terrible!
I'm returning it tomorrow and buying elsewhere. This has been ridiculous.

Ouch that sucks. Hope you better luck somewhere else.

Yeah, they follow the adage "you get what you pay for" its way easier to go to like Newegg or Frys and build your own.

Not to mention cheaper.

Building your own is the way to go. And if you're not a power gamer, there's really nothing difficult to it. (It only gets twitchy when you get into replacing CPU heat sinks and adding custom cooling to handle overclocking.

I actually bought the computer through newegg, but CyberPower is one of their "e-tailers".

Ah, if you bought it already assembled, yeah, that may be the case. I meant more buying individual components and assembling them yourself. If you can follow directions that come with the mother board, hooking stuff up is easy. Though granted a bit more time consuming in the R&D side of things.

Tales like this are why I buy components and assemble myself. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I've been tinkering with PCs for 29 years and have a cousin who is a certified IT tech who repairs PCs as a side job.

I did that before and it DID work better. I thought I could just save myself the time; bad move.

If I knew this ahead of time, I would have warned you. I bought one from them in 2005 and it took 8 months to get a refund from the piece of crap they sent me. The tower I bought... they never sent the monitor, fans were broken, and power supply was underrated from what we ordered so it kept cutting out.

Eight months? That's terrible!

which included weekly calls to check on it, and didn't include the 3 months of them "trying" to fix it before we demanded a refund. The reps were dumb enough to admit to me that they didn't know what was going on and were taking other calls while placing me on hold to "research the issue".

I'm cutting to the chase then and going directly in for a refund.

I've heard Newegg and ibuypower do good work. I think they're more pricy than Cyberpower but at this rate dropping some extra money for quality is probably worth it.

Yeah Gannon and Mad recommended them too (ibuypower) so that's the route I'm going.
