my mom once caught me looking at an illustration of something naked with big boobs, i don't think she caught sight of what it really was bug she knew it had big boobs and had ridiculous fem curves and she was infuriated with me about it... doubt she'd understand knowing i was a fur... then again maybe she would. I just don't know

my mom never seen me doing anything like that she just knows that i would dress up like my fursona and meet people its just a group for fun i dont really think she knows the yiffyer side of furry or not but she supports me with it

Besides them freaking the hell out and all the cursing/swearing/name calling.....they threw me out of the house 3 weeks later.

But that's in the past and we have made amends, and also they recognized that I am who I am...a AZ State Law Enforcement Officer, a US Marine and a loving husband to my wife whom I've been with for almost 14 years now.

So, yes one day I do plan on showing them that I'm back into the fandom and its my life and my choice to live life to the fullest.

Parents might have a clue but I'm scared of what they think. Theres already enough tension as it stands...

Mine don't know about the fandom. However, they do blame of the people I meet online for being bisexual when it was by my choice way before I even joined online and the fandom. They tried to change it before. But I think right now, they forgot I am bisexual.

More like forgot. They though I was confused and though I should have been taken to a doctor or therapist to be straight again. They tried many things actually. But I found weird how it's been a year or so that they don't try to change me. I think they forgot. Thing is, our family is catholic. Now I admit, I am catholic just not as religious as them, but I do not think on such stupid rules like "being gay is a sin!". I think on equality more.

My mom is a hardcore CSI fan. she connected the dots super quick.

It was not a conversation I enjoyed and would ever want to repeat. Mother was not accepting of this.

I told my mother I was gay and a fur at the worst possible time. On a christmas vacation. She didn't bat an eye.

Until Season 4 of CSI came out. We were both fans. I told he when she watched the infamous 'Fur and Loathing' to call me right away.

THe conversation went something like this.

"Hey (Deep's Real Name), I saw that episode you told me about."
Okay, Mom, I can explain...
"What's to explain? It's TV! Sex sells! 'Course it isn't entirely like that!"

We then talked about how the characters themselves addressed the topic IN character, and nothing really changed. Grissom was fascinated, Catherine cracked wise regardless of how comfortable or not she was with what was going on, etc.

My mother knows here, she even help critique some commissions that I got from both  BadgerBen and  Dnapalmhead as well as the fact that I know I talk to both of them occasionally though Skype. She is fine that I have friends like the two of them and that we can share interests. My father on the other hand is so old fashioned and just doesn't understand the fandom that he thinks it is akin to a den of beastility or such. He had a very very negative view of the famous furry CSI episode back when it first aired.

Funny thing about admitting sexuality; when i told my dad i was bi, he just went 'I already knew, i've been waiting for you to say that.' Safe to say i was confused :'3 But they're chill with that.

My parents know I'm part of the fandom. Growing up, I had a friend with the same first name as me, so our other friends would call me "Draco" and call him "Josh". At first, I made an excuse, telling them that it's easier for everyone; that way our friends got the attention of the person they intended to and both Josh and I knew who they were calling. But I had to explain it to them when I wanted to go to my first convention back in 2006, so I sat them down an showed them commissions I'd already gotten of Draco (the clean ones, heh), and showed them pictures of past conventions. My mom thought it looked like fun, but of course she has an imagination. My father, at the time, was very heavily into the Pentecostal faith and didn't understand.

I'm 31 now. They don't mention it, but know that there will be at least two Sundays out of the year that I won't be available to help them at their church because I'm either in Pittsburgh or Chicago (AC or MFF). LOL

My brother's cool with it. He thinks it's quirky and weird, but enjoys the art I show him.

As far as admitting sexuality, heh. I attempted to breach this subject with them back when I was 18. Yeah, do the math. This was before I told them I was furry. I was tired of lying to them and it was beginning to drive me insane. I put on a smile and pretended like nothing was the matter when inside I was screaming. Again, my dad was still very heavily into the church, so he was outright opposed to it. Neither of them understood how it could have happened. They did everything they could think of. They used every tactic in the book. They took me to a therapist (who told them that THEY had the problem). They threatened to kick me out twice. "What would the church think?" "How could you do this to us?" Finally they just stopped talking to me altogether. They wouldn't even call me up for dinner. I eventually broke under the pressure and told them it was all a phase and shoved myself back into the closet. I haven't breached the subject since and have lived two lives for over a decade. It still hurts to look my mom in the eyes and act like nothing's amiss between us. I think she suspects even now that I was only saying what I was saying to get them to at least ACT like they loved me again, but I'll never know because they will die never knowing who I truly am.

And none of my Real life friends know that I am furry they have made glear most of them dont like the fandom.

Later on a few years ago my parents actually went to Anthrocon into the dealers room into artist alley hunting for me to tell me they was going to go get lunch, do I wanna come. That moment was a bit more embarrassing.

Both my parents know though my mom forgot it in the endless sea of weird things i am a part of. My dad remembers though and though friendly about it has a tendency of brining it up at the most humerous moments where i end up the butt of the joke (not that anyone else knows so it's a in joke between us).

I draw mostly werewolves and I like wolves. My parents knows about this (and dislike it a bit) but don't tell me to stop. As for the furry fandom I am just a lurker from Therians so I can't tell I am part of this fandom.

My parents dont know much about the furry fandom(drama, yiff, etc) but know i´m furry and like the drawings.
Last year i revealed my sexuality and they now accept, a bit, not 100% but we live without conflicts =)
