No one tagged me, just saw this going around...
1) What was your FIRST video game console?
-First game i ever played was Myst on my friend's PC. As for consoles, TurboGrafx & NES. first one i owened was SNES.
2) Name a few games you played on said console.
-Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair, Galaga, Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure.... i only ever played Zelda & Ghosts 'n Goblins on the NES. for years i collected shitty point & click PC games riding on the coattails of Myst. none ever came close but i had fun playing them nonetheless. 9: The Last Resort was very fun & extremely difficult. The SNES games..... i'm too lazy to list them all (a friend let me have her entire collection. sooo many games).
3) Excluding handhelds, how many VG consoles do you own presently?
-SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, & Gamecube (collecting dust, unfortunately. been meaning to sell it). I don't have any handhelds.
4) Were you a Street Fighter nut? Any character in particular?
-Not really. I watched my brother play it a few times... about 9 years ago.
5) Do you think Capcom is a FUCKING awesome company with kickass character designs?
-well, i really like Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts & Demon's Crest. Resident Evil is cool but the controls are really difficult. I can't think of others at the moment. The designs are okay... it's more a nostalgia thing in regard to Ghouls 'n Ghosts.
6) Here's the scenario.. You had some friends over and you all ate FRIED CHICKEN! After the meal you all decide to play some video games. As your friend reaches for a controller you notice his/her hands are very "greasy." Are you the type that would insist they wash their hands before pawing the controller, or is it no big deal?
-Um... okay. I guess so long as their fingers aren't DRIPPING with chickengrease, getting under the buttons & fucking up the inner workings, it'd be alright (i'm none too protective of my things unless there's a possibility of permanent damage). yeah it's a bit uncouth but whatever. their loss anyway, trying to play a video game with greasy hands.
7) What's your favorite RPG/Action RPG?
-Chrono Trigger is great. I haven't played many Final Fantasy games, but the ones i did play were quite fun... just can't recall much to say for sure.
8) Do you prefer 2D games or 3D games?
-I like both. Depends entirely on the game's contents & programing.
9) Are you an SNK fan?
-Haven't really played anything having to do with SNK. i'm not fit to judge.
9) Are you good at DDR?
-i honestly can't stand that game.
10) Who wants to kick that dog's ass from Duck Hunt?
-All i remember from that game is the clay pigeons. I only ever watched people play it. Not a fan.
11)Have you skipped out on important events in life because of video games?
-Not so much. I've shirked plenty of schoolwork though.
12) Do you listen to video game music?
-Well... when not actually playing a video game, the only bits of video game misic i've sought out are the fortune teller music from A Link to the Past & the potion shop from Ocarina of Time. the shadow temple too.
13) Have you ever cosplayed a VG character?
-no
14) Have you ever been in an arcade playing a fighting game, KICKING ASS, and then some 6 year old asian kid comes in and OWNS YOU??
-haven't been to an arcade in years. But even so, I just stick to skee ball.
15) Name three games you would love to see remakes of if it was done properly.
-Shit... all that comes to mind is Ocarina of Time. I love that game sooo much. It'd just be interesting to see how it would turn out... what programers would elaborate upon & such. Also because Twilight princess was such a disappointment. the character design is just horrendous & it became very obvious after playing for a bit that the game was only made to showcase the glorious Wii technology. all other aspects of game design were placed second. No horror-themed dungeon of any sort & hardly any good side quests to boot. hmmm, it'd be interesting to see a good remake of Ghouls 'n Ghosts.
16) Mario or Sonic?
-Mario. specifically Super Mario Bros 2 (i.e. reprogramed Doki Doki Panic).I love the oddball games in a given series.
17) When a movie shows up in the theaters, let's use Spider-man as an example, are you likely to buy the GAME version?
-Fuck no.
18) What is your LEAST favorite genre of video games? (ex. fighting, sports, shooters, etc.)
-Sports. Save for THPS & 1080° on N64. are those sport games? i guess.....
19) Is there a game out there that you feel was unique and didn't get enough love?
-Nothing's coming to mind.
20) Have you ever verbally abused a game because you couldn't beat one of the levels and/or bosses?
-Yeah. Mostly the PC point 'n click puzzle-filled games.
21) Do you own any VG apparel?
-Nope.
22) What are your thoughts on the live-action Super Mario Bros movie?
-John Leguizamo seems to be a real jinx on most the films he's cast in (e.g. Spawn D:). I still like Bob Hoskins though... not as Mario. Just as an actor. He's really quite awesome, especially in small roles like his spot in Brazil.
23) On that note, what did you think about the live-action Street Fighter movie?
-Never saw it, but I'm gonna assume it's a great deal similar in quality to Double Dragon.
24) Who's hottest out of the KOF chicks?
-Never played KOF.
25) Do you say "old-school" a lot when you're having a VG conversation with others?
-No.
26) Have you ever lent someone a game and they returned it to you damaged?
-Not damaged in the literal sense, but one time my friend's little brother somehow erased all my saved files from a game i had lent her.
27) Do you own any imported games?
-Yes indeed. Cho Aniki for PS1..... it's horrifically homosexual. Apparently part of a whole series - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cho_Aniki
28) Are you ready for this meme to be over, or could you keep going?
-Most certainly.
29) In this scenario, let's pretend you're going to get a video game tattoo! What would you get and where? This can be simple or elaborate.
-I honestly cannot think of anything. Also, i'm not one for marking or accessorizing in any way. I don't even wear a watch.
30) Have you ever cried after you beat a game? If so why?
-I haven't cried, just general sadness. When i beat Ocarina of Time because it was such an incredible game. it wasn't so much the ending itself, but rather the act of beating it & the credits finally going back to the title screen. Just the fact that it was all over made me sad. Same with Myst & Riven.
