dumb rant warning; don't read if blegh



Exactly what I said, I'm kind of getting super disheartened with everything, it's a bitch to find the stuff I'd like for my stories, and no-one seems interested. There's a couple people who are really nice and chat with me about my dumb babies, and rp, but for as many wonderful people I have to chat with I reach out to 5 times as many and get shot down and see them interact with other people instead.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point. It's gotten to the point where I'll write something with a lot of thought put into it and send it off fully expecting it to automatically be shot down, 90% of the time on right on that assumption.
I feel stupid sending people serious trade offers that I've taken time to think about and immediately be shot down within seconds. I don't want to start buying adopts just as trade fodder since it's dickish thing to do in my opinion, but there's times where it feels like that's the only way to get certain adopts these days.
Offers of my own art aren't adequate either, even when I offer the equivalent of hundreds of dollars worth.

Even just outside of trades no-one seems interested. I only rarely get comments on any of my works, and most comments come on pictures I make of original species adopts that I got that are popular. I used to take all this time to write out a description just a little something to try and peak peoples interest, to make them want to know more and get nothing.
I'm feeling fed up. Maybe from now on I won't reach out to anyone, won't bother offering anyone anything, won't bother commenting or tagging or adding any description to anything I post anymore, there's no point anyway.

I'll keep to the people who've been wonderful so far and just leave it at that.
maybe if I post I'll only post dumps rather than individual pieces.
