I know it's kind of an overused example these days but The Walking Dead. I remember walking into a local comic shop in October, seeing Issue 1 of this new zombie horror series and thinking "Yeah, that'll be good for a halloween novelty and it'll be gone in a few months." So i picked it up just on the prospect of having a cheap laugh and having my gore quota filled for the day. To my surprise I found that it was a character driven story of survival in a disaster situitation. I've been collecting ever since.

You should see his real life wife Holly G, also an artist and colors in the Tarot comics.

But yea maybe not the most noble reason to pick up the comic but the storylines are very deep or funny or action packed or whatever

Oh I've seen her. My brother's a big fan and he's been collecting that comic as well as any of the 3 Kittens titles whenever they come around much the same as I've been with TWD. So I've read a good portion of the work and seen the photos they put in the back.
