Sadly, if microsoft bloats the skype client and trashes it any more than they have with ads and endlessly huge growing resource requirements to run the application, it'll detonate all on it's own.
With what microsoft has been doing to skype lately, I've definitely been nosing at google hangouts a bit more lately. If you really nose around and figure out what's what, google services are really powerful for communication honestly, even if it's a bit too interconnected sometimes. A swiss army knife doesn't always get the job done better even if it has all the tools in one place... sometimes all you want is a screwdriver. :x The hangouts application is a bit too foreign for people who check it out too.. feels very alien the first few times you try to interact with it, even if it's pretty awesome.
I miss skype from before microsoft started ruining it. ; . ;
