FurDU 2014
I cannot do justice to the amount of fun I had at
furdu
So many Aussies convening, so many buddies, so many drinks, pool, suit, beach, repeat, yaaaass. Getting the furs on the same floors, enough so that we got the door joining our neighbour's room opened, was so good. That was a great, hectic party before it got shut down! One of many! BalKONY 2014.
Participating in Duke's dance video was a fun thing to do, and actually got me thinking about choreography and dance performance construction, even as basic as it was. The dances were amazing, particularly Sunday's Dead Dog when I finally got to stop caring about keeping suits clean or anything and just let loose and went hard. Plus so many kigus roaming it was like having more suiters around!
I'm glad I did the dance comp. I'm very aware of how fluent, creative, practiced and flexible that people are in comps worldwide, and I considered leaving it to them and just having my own con fun. But we need competitors in our comps down here, so I might as well enter to make others look good and hopefully entertain a few folks in the process. I think I did better this year, and can surely do better next time too.

I get such a glow from a con like this. There's such a great sense of mutual appreciation between me and a lot of people that I just feel as though so much of the shit in this world, my previous bad decisions or life choices, none of that matters, 'cause everything can be right for this long weekend. And now it's up to me to keep the holiday feel as long as possible. Feels good man.

"If we check-in together, we'll get offered the emergency exits."
Five minutes later.
"Will you be willing to take the emergency exit seats?"
You're amazing! Our little airport con was really a nice way to end FurDU.
I still can't believe how fucked I was for time, mentally.
"Ehhh, why rush? We still have an hour and forty minutes."
"I didn't change my watch to QLD time because I thought I might arrange to get picked up" ... for an eight minute ride home goddammit!
Next year, the stripper pants will not fail, and I'll reclaim the lead!
