It was sweet and all that, but I am still not motivated to get a Wii U.

It just seems silly for me just to buy a console just for one game, that's all.

I never buy a console for one game. I buy it for the exclusive games it gets.

if Smash bros, Mario, zelda, bayonetta 2, X, etc all catch your eye, then look into it.

getting ANY system for a single game is silly.

Smash bros on 3DS has online as well as local multiplayer, so if you have that already, by all means get it for that.

i have people I play with in person and already have a Wii U, so I'm certainly going to get the Wii U version, though my brother may get me the 3DS version as well (he likes to get games for the both of us to play together)

I'm dead set on the 3ds version. Sure, it will be less impressive on the graphical department (and less dynamic stage-wise), but it will certainly be playable and enjoyable still. :3

i wonder if they are advertising the 3DS version a bit more for the summer release, and end up launching a bombshell for the Wii U version for the holiday season...

So far, all we know about the Wii U version aside from the graphical department are stages, music... and... I guess we'll find out at a later date. There's still a severe lack of FALCON PAWNSH present... but with FIVE characters just thrown at us from this direct, and it's still april, there's still room for another fighter or two.

Ness, jigglypuff, and C-falcon are part of the original 12, so them not showing up would be silly.

We also haven't seen ganondorf, Wario, metaknight, the second fire emblem rep, ROB, game and Watch, and many others we KNOW will show up.

However, Sakurai stated that he won't reveal all the secrets of the game before launch. He made a point to say he won't reveal locked characters and that luigi would be among them, but since it was the Ear of Luigi, he did it, but only for him.

if he hadn't shown him, people would blindly be stating "Luigi got cut for Rosalina!" because it's what people were screaming until Yoshi got announced.
