tentative rates
These are just my tentative numbers, and will undoubtedly fudge and fluctuate with the exacts of the subject or what have you.
For a simple sketch, like http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13190227/ a smallish piece 6 in/15cm with not a lot going on starts at $20.
For a larger and or more elaborate pencil piece, like a larger version of standing Coyote Woman figure on this sketch page, 8 in./20cm or so http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13110135/ $30. and up.
Simple color work over pencils http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12559555/ would also be $30 and up.
More elaborate pencils and color, or some basic ink and color, think full figures of the samples http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13199393/
would get into the $40. plus range.
For more full-on painterly work http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5647125 or http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5639046 or http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5517756/ goes in to the $100 plus range.
Details of how much of what you might want in the image can bump up the price, on the other hand, I can work fairly small, so smaller work for a smaller budget, but everything is negotiable.
Subject matter? I'm not keen on some of the fetish stuff, no diapers, vore, BDSM, ultra-violence and such. I don't have a problem with simple sex, though I'm less inclined on homo erotic stuff, partly 'cause I'm kind of clueless as to what makes an attractive male figure. If doing your character, I'll need references and will always do an initial sketch for approval before going very far at all. And while I can imitate some others cartoon styles, requests for such do raise the question why not simply go to the source?
Is the above useful?
I just got a Paypal account, and just got some help as to how it actually works. So, I'm now a fully operational battle station!

The lack of Paypal - while not an issue for me - may hurt you a bit. If you can get that set up, I think that would help your business prospects. Many people are disinclined to go to the trouble of mailing a payment, so I'd look into that, as well.
Good luck! I very much look forward to getting some work from you when I'm able. :)

I seem to recall you had started doing sketches of my fennec for me but something got in the way and it fell through at the time? Would you be interested in picking up on the project again?
HORRORS
And you call yourself an artist!
You will never escape Erma Felna, naked, with a crow bar!
Best state right up front on your main page, what you will not draw, and make it bold!

well except for the cubs with dirty diapers and vor parts.

doit for an auction to get you to more cons (No I haven't read all the probs you've been having with it gimme a minute...or twenty...) Hell come to megacon in orland next year! I can prolly make that one, it's close enough that I can prolly make it!
A couple of questions:
I do not have Paypal. Is a Money Order still acceptable form of payment?
I would be very interested in a piece that could be included in a future publication (in print, that is) of my comic "Swansong" http://www.islothbear.com/Swansong.html
(With my current rate of (un)productivity this could be quite some time in the future, so there isn't any deadline anytime soon, but maybe having a Steve Gallacci picture would spur me on!)
Would work intended for publication incur any additional fees/cost or any other considerations?
Please let me know if there are any other concerns with such a request, if you are interested.
Thanks!
I was thinking something on the higher end, such as (trying to find a good example) uh, is this one good example of a watercolor piece? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10641994/ or http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5508090/ ? Anyway a detailed watercolor was what I had in mind.
I'd like to give you as much creative freedom as you want, but if you work better with some direction I can try to do that too. I'd prefer it was of one or both main characters Trevor or Freya, but if a side character catches your fancy... Let me know if what comics I have posted on my site provide enough reference material (I may have even thrust a copy or two at you at Emerald City Comicon one year, but I'd be surprised if you still have them)
I'm all aflutter! Please message me with what you need to move forward (i.e. money?). I look forward to working with you!
Thanks again!
But I will say, I am rather new to asking for commissions. I'm not sure how the whole process works (I suppose it vairies from artist to artist), so please bear with me if I ask any stupid questions.
Would a 'preliminary' consist of a single rough sketch or a couple rough sketches of different ideas/compositions? Again, just want to get things straight up front, so I don't end up making things more complicated down the road.
I'll submit something for your review soon.

If that's too weird, my apologies for raising further fuss, just wanted to make sure we weren't misunderstanding eachother.
But, seriously, good to know, I'll certainly keep these prices in mind!
https://squareup.com/?sro=1 has been around for a few years; it's a dongle for your smartphone or tablet that allows you to take credit cards via their app. They recently came out with an over-the-internet method of taking cards, as well as in-general sending money, called Square Cash. https://square.com/cash
It's a nifty alternative to Paypal that doesn't seem to have Paypal's... issues of being... idiots.
I was wondering if you were available for commissions again. I will completely understand if not.
My idea is clay golems designed a bit like snails or snakes, at least as far as mobility is concerned, and this is the part I have the most difficulty visualizing
