PAX 2014, RI Furbowl/Dance, and Autism Speaks walk wrap up.

Another day, another rant...
Okay, this is going to be messy even by my standards.
PAX: Overall it was good. Had some fun and met quite a few awesome folks (apparently I'm in a couple sites cosplay galleries now). The general population was fine with furries and since there were a few others present it was a good time. My handler for the day Barb (Babs or Rafiya) managed to keep me on track for where we needed to be and what we wanted to see. Met some game developers, publishers and a few advertising folks as well as had a blast with players of many of my favorite games LoL SC WoW and EvE to name a few.
RI Fur bowl and Dance: Again, overall a good time. Zen drove this time and we only got lost once or twice on the way. The lanes were pretty nice and kind of reminded me of my home league setup at Vernon Lanes. It did seem a bit short on time at the alley, but that was more than made up for during the dance that followed. Which I broke out my old glow sticks for the first time in years and actually danced/bounced around. Kinda curious to see video of that since I had very little idea of what was going on around me at the time.
Autism Speaks 5k: This as a group activity and charity event was excellent. For the money raised and the times had it was good. Unfortunately UConn still has a great number of fur haters and apparently resulted in an actual assault on one of the other suiters attending by someone with no association to the event. It happened just off of the main site at the garage next to the Athletics Department. The suiter was fine, but the assailant was not caught. We didn't find out about this till after we had finished the walk. We did get split into two separate groups as one group accidentally took the 5k route, but still completed it and the other smaller group managed to find the 3k route. But it was definitely not something I wanted to find out after the fact and had me a bit worried since there was another suiter whom none of us there knew and we didn't know where they where after the event. So UConn might need some extra security by the north and south garages since it appears to be an area where things happen and lacks the needed safety some folks expect. Other than that things went smoothly and we ended up hanging out at the student union for a while before going our seperate ways.
That's all I have for now!

Ya, despite the incident (poor Taru), the Autism Speaks was a great time! So glad they made so much money! And it was good to see you again, although we didn't get any chit chat in. I left after we ate inside and was kinda tired or I would have stayed for more pictures. Saw the Husky statue pic I missed out on. Sucks living so far away in Worcester, Ma., but always a good time spent with all the fine furs of Connecticutt. HUGZ!
