Funny enough, a good friend of mine actually got more commissions when he boosted his prices. I did the same but sadly to no avail. I think it does boost customer confidence somewhat though.

I feel you, since i am in the same boat. But like all good things, it takes time for people to notice and commission you.
What I've noticed about the people who get commissioned a lot or who are very popular is...they draw mostly for themselves. They work more on their stories and characters, and I think THAT's what people notice. They see someone who truly loves their art and characters, and they want to pay to have some of that love put into theirs. After I finish the trades I owe, that's what I'm going to start doing. Developing stories for my OCs and not care about anything else. Put all my love into my art and characters for myself. It may take a while before I'm noticed, if I'm noticed at all. If I'm not, who cares? I'll have my art and characters that I've worked hard on and I'll be proud.
You just have to keep pushing for things. It's very rare to get gratification so quickly. Some people work for years. Just keep pushing--I know you can do it C:

We all want money for future things, but we can't get them immediately when we want them. We have to work for it.
I'd love to have money for my own place and little things I want, but for now I have to stay where I am and get a job at a local place. The commission money will have to be a second form of income. You can't rely on commission money as a first job. That's something you have to work towards while you do other menial jobs for money. It's not always fun, but it's money right?

i feel like i never get commissions, unless i go around to EVERYONE'S inbox and message them like "hey open for commissions". i went 6 months advertising properly and got nothing. it's just the way the furry fandom is, i guess... it's sad.

I only get attention when I hold a raffle and I've tried countless times to sell my art and I think I've only had ONE actual buyer for a SKETCH
I've grasped the fact that no one wants art from me.
Tbh I'm highly amazed my beloved sold a YCH for $25 I mean holy shit it wasn't even pron either.

I wish that, itself would get attention but as I said.. People aare weird with what they want.

yeah it's really hard for me to get commissions as well. except for my friends who are mainly the only ones who commission me. i don't even have a price list i'm basically PWYW as well. i mean i shouldn't complain i guess but like i know i'm a good artist (i agree w/ you, art's one of the only things i'm very good at) but yeah it's really discouraging when no one will commission you, especially if you post about it and stuff.

I think I am very good as an artist because I have been doing art for so many years and have a lot to offer yet I am ignored especially when I make a call for help because I need to raise money to pay for my college stuff and I am willing to work for it that's when they ignore you the most.

It's getting so annoying
