Every single time I hear it, my heart starts pounding, and my breathing gets shallow.
I'm still crying just a bit even as I type this because I am listening to it again.
There are several reasons why. It's a powerful song, very beautiful, and is even more powerful when played along with the ending of Final Fantasy XIII, because they complement each other beauty. But that isn't the main reason it gets to me so much.
The main reason is because it reminds me of a close friend of mine that passed away six years ago. Her name was Marcillia, and I still miss her so much, and I wish she could still be here. She loved a ring I had, and would take it and wear it for a day every once in a while. I gave the ring to her mother, which was attached to a book that I and other friend's of Marcillia's filled with all sorts of things, from written memories to drawings. I bough an exact replica of the same ring as a symbol of the bond we shared, a bond we still share, and I wear it as a necklace every day, so I can keep her close to my heart.
