Here Goes Nothing

Well, in the morning I'm going to have to brave the After Thanksgiving sale at Wal*Mart. Needless to say I better be prepared for people to consume me while shopping for the best deals. Last year, I was working in the toy department and survived. But who knows!
Unfortunately, I've been placed in charge of shopping carts and carry outs with a few other associates. I'd almost rather deal with the madness inside. I hate pushing carts! I did it for two excruciating years and that was enough.
If you've never been to a sale like this, it's absolutely nuts. Customers are lined up for what seems like miles waiting to get into the store when we open and when we finally open, you best stay out of their way or else you'll get trampled. Last year was my first experience and I have to say that I wished I had the energy to stand in line for hours and then run clear across the store fighting old women for an Elmo or in some cases a shopping cart and parking spaces.
Electronics and Toys both have the most congestion as you can imagine. It was almost impossible to get through so you can assist a customer with something. And to make matters worse, the special sale items are placed randomly throughout the store. So good luck answering 5-10 people at once when they're asking you where each specific item is.
I don't know how busy it will be this year and how well our merchandise will sell because on top of everything else... our customers will not be able to place anything in Layaway. Should be interesting to see how well the HDTV s and various expensive items are going to sell without it.
The only thing I'm dreading the most is that I'm scheduled from 9:00 tonight until 8:00 tomorrow morning. Wal*Mart opens at 5:00 in the morning so I imagine those last three hours are going to be long...
WISH ME LUCK!

Plus I was like super pissed because the week before we were swamped preparing for thanksgiving, and then all those people come back like the two day safter that and mob the place again. And I'm all like ready to puncha someone!!!
Plus our managers are dumby butts. Goodluck! Remember, if you get caught in a paniced crowd, your best defense against trampling is to press up against a wall parallell to the flow of the mob. As oposed to a wall the crowd is facing, as you might get crushed against it. I like pizza.
However, you still couldn't walk through the Electronics and Toy departments to save your life. O_o; Nuts.
I spent most of my time offering to help people put their purchases in the car which is a lot less repetitive than keeping shopping carts in the inner corral! But I'll tell you what, 11 hours at Wal*Mart did me in. I went home and slept for about 10 hours today. XD
If it hadn't of been for my Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, I might've passed out on the parking lot. :P
Our store was apparently #1 in the district within a couple hours so we did well. Though our sales were still down possibly due to the loss of Layaway sales...
But anyway, I can say that I've made it through 3 blitzes in a row. Now to get through the rest of the shopping season!
