So I finish up a commission, and I send the client a low-res preview of their pic for approval and payment. While waiting for a response I browse the interwebs looking for a suitable pose ref for another pic I'm working on and generally just wasting time. A note pops into my inbox. Yay! It's from the client! Before I open the note I open the PS file back up to save off some high-res pics to email.
PS is acting weird, and then my virus scanner pops up with "omg I found a virus should I baleet it?" I say "kay" and it says "coo but you need to restart" and I say "kay what the heck" so I restart it.
YAY MY COMPUTER IS DEAD NOW
YAY I CAN'T EVEN GET INTO SAFE MODE
I wouldn't care because that computer has nothing of real value on it, but I had used it to paint this particular image because boyfriend's been hogging the good computer since he has new year's eve and day off from work. He says he can get the files I need but he'll have to get his l337 h@xx0r gear from work tomorrow so I'm left hanging in the meantime.
I'm not asking for computer advice, since the BF has cybernetic implants and knows every trick in the book (he is employed for his borg-interfacing skillz) but I am frustrated and what better (and more constructive) outlet than to vent in an online journal, huh folks? 8D

Also, when you do start in safe mode, what is the command it gets hung up on?
It eventually let me into safe mode. I kept getting the HEY YOU'RE IN SAFE MODE WANNA STAY IN SAFE MODE? dialog box popping up about every 30 seconds. After this happens about 3 or 4 times explorer crashes. *shrug*
Boyfriend's doing something to the computer right now, I don't know or care what but I think he's reinstalling windows from the looks of it...
I can SO relate. took me FOREVER to get the art from the artists again.

And what Virus scanner do you use?
It sounded like it deleted an important file.
And I have 16 commissions to do =[
