So you want to have your own Juvel, that's great! But they aren't exactly the simplest creatures out there, so you might be a little confused on what to do now or how to start! This simple guide will explain all the basic steps to creating your very own Juvel!
STEP 1 - PICK A BODY TYPE AND A GENDER
Juvels come in all sorts of different shapes and colors, but lets begin with their shapes! They can be the common Balanced type, the slender Vitaminic type, the chubby Energic type or the stocky Proteic type. More info on them can be seen HERE! Don't worry, you can even make Juvels with a little bit of different bodytypes as well!
Once you have a body type is time to decide on the gender. Male or Female. Both share a lot of similarities but a few differences like their size or how they form crystals. More info on them can be seen HERE!
STEP 2 - PICK THE EARS
Ears are one of the unique features of Juvel, large and oddly shaped. Ears can have all sorts or notches, prolongations or fringes. Ear patterns can be hereditary as well!
STEP 3 - PICK THE DIET
Juvel only eat one piece of food for the entirety of their life, so chose wisely! This diet can consist of anything, from fresh fruit, to baked goods, to animal produce and yes, even meat, although meat eating Juvels are rare. This diet will detemrine the color of the Juvel but not the pattern, the pattern of a Juvel's colors is intrinsical to each individual! More info on diets can be found HERE! For food with a particular packaging color bare in mind a Juvel will only take the colors of the contents, not the package.
STEP 4 - PICK THE AGE
The developpement stage of a Juvel modifies their appearence and behaviour very radically. The cycle consists of a Juveling phase, a young Juvel phase, an Adult Juvel phase, an Old Juvel phase and a Grand Juvel phase. These ages modify mostly the amount of crystals on the Juvel's body and their family units. More info on their life cycle can be found HERE!
STEP 5 - DESIGN THE CRYSTALS
The only crystal-less Juvel is a Young one, all others have a varying degree of crystals on them. Crystals come in all sorts of different shapes, geometrical, pearl like, shale like, anything you can picture! Their color reflects the type of diet the Juvel has, so they must be consistent with the Juvel's coloring
STEP 6 - DESIGN THE NECKLACE
A Juvel's necklace is a sign of its persona, and holds strong significance in their interpersonal relationships. They are made from bits and pieces of their diet source: pips, peels, cores, packaging scraps even pieces of the food itself. Perishable goods are dipped in the Juvel's crystalline secretion to prevent them from rotting.
STEP 7 - DRAW THEM!
That's the basic of a Juvel! You are now ready to put them on paper. You don't have to use the templates provided, but if you wish you may! You can find them HERE! Remember to always check the Juvel Directory for already made Juvels to avoid design repetition or similar ideas. Juvel are very unique creatures! Please be original!
STEP 8 - PICK ITS BONDS
Does your Juvel have a mate? Siblings? Parents? Is it a parent itself? What sort of close relationships does your Juvel have.
STEP 9 - PICK ITS PERSONALITY!
How does your juvel act? Is it friendly and approachable? Maybe too energetic? Is it more introverted, shy, arrogant? Does it anger quickly? Does it isolate itself? A Juvel can have any which personality, as complex as you want!
STEP 10 - POST THEM!
Congratulations! You have a new Juvel! You may now post it on whatever sites you'd like! Please remember to always credit the species creator and to put the group's icon on your page, to spread the Juvel fever around! You should always tag your juvel art as "juvel" so its easy for us to find and favorite it! Oh and you may also note us with your character to add it to the ever growing Juvel directory!
