Curse you, Education!

Guys, I know it's been a million years since I've been any kind of social, but I'd like some advice if y'all 've the time to spare on little ol me. Basically, I'm heading off to big boy college in the fall, but honestly I can't afford it, it's about 10k a semester YIKES! Anyway I've been trying to save up for it, but I'm still no where near the amount I need, and so I was thinking I'd try to pick up a few bucks here are there however I can. No, I haven't been selling my hot bod on the streets....yet, but I have been selling old books and DVDs on Amazon.
To the point. I've only got a part time job right now, I'd like to get another part time job but the odds of someone hiring me for only three months is kind of....questionable. So this means I have a bit of extra time on my hands....time for arts and crafts maybe? I've never really tried commissions before but I'd be more than willing to give that a go if anyone would be interested.
So far as pricing goes, this is all uber rough, but I was thinking like $5-10, for sketches, $15- 20 for basic color and I donno maybe something like $20-30 for something all decked out. I donno what's fair? What do y'all think? Have you got any other ideas how this lowly hound can get a few extra pesos?

Those can make a big difference.
I've been on a continuous investigation for scholarship but has, as of yet, had little luck. It doesn't help that I've been taking a large amount of math oriented courses. I, alas have a poor mathematical comprehension and this has caused my GPA to fall below a 3.0, though just barely. A GPA lower than a 3.0 also reduces the amount of scholarships available to me.
But the struggle is ongoing...only two more years to go.
Another potential point of friction is I'll be doing a minimum of 16 credits a semester, so that I can graduate in two years but I will be taking some fairly high-end math courses (Organic Chemistry, Calculus, Physics, ect.) and I really don't know if I can do those things as a full time student with a typical part time job. I don't think it would do good things to my GPA. I figured if I could do commissions I might have a way to make a small amount of money for food or gas or insurance or whatever and I could earn that money doing something I enjoy, and I could do it more of less on my own time. *shrug* I'm exploring my options.
Thanks for the interest and the advice, I appreciate all the help I can get!
