Health Update
Well, those who know me know I've been struggling with stomach and gallbladder issues for at least a couple years now. This includes the ever-increasing frequency of localized pain in the stomach and lots of gallstones. Because I was on the lowest form of insurance (I am very very poor) they've been pussy-footing around with acid reducers that have done very little (though they did do an endoscopy that showed lots of inflammation and an ultra-sound that showed lots of stones in the gallbladder.)
The frequent pain has really slowed me down in my work, and I apologize. I hope to be able to speed up production soon, because I finally had a surgeon consult today! Thanks to the Affordable Care Act and the expansion of Medicare (which I now qualify for), it looks like this gallbladder nightmare might finally be coming to a close. Now all I have to wait for is a date for the surgery.
Thank you all -- especially my customers -- for hanging in there with me. I'll keep you updated. ^_^

With that being said, you have my deepest empathy as to your condition. Here's to getting that cholecystectomy surgery, something I plan to do eventually, though I have my doubts about being able to even afford the Care Act, being jobless at the moment, but looking for employment. It's a big bother, but so far, I've been coping with it. Best wishes to you in your art business and life in general, and always grateful for the business we've done in the past. :) Hug for Chester, too.
It's a fairly quick recovery process! I don't have insurance either though I feel your pain. Ive been paying it little by little. But Im not in pain anymore so that's always a plus.
Best wishes!
I'm so glad you're feeling better!!
Good luck on your surgery!
Not me -- I tell everyone I can: check it out; you'll be amazed what you qualify for.
Thanks for the well-wishes! I can't wait.
I just wish it weren't so frustrating to sign up for, or I'd have done it myself.
I hope your recovery is swift!
I told them, "Yeah -- they're called Insurance Companies. They ALWAYS had the power to tell your doctor what procedures they would and wouldn't pay for. Regardless of what your doctor thought was best."
Art is still getting done, but not as fast as I'd like. It's frustrating (and painful.)
To be honest, I've been having stomach problems of my own since last year: Been waking up/dealing with mild to severe nausea almost every morning and every day. Saw a clinic last year about it and was told to just eat and drink healthier and that there was nothing to worry about...The new diet has helped SOME but it just wont completely go away...And now that my insurance has run out (still waiting on Healthcare.gov to approve my identity) I wouldn't dare set foot in another doctor's office without being penalized. Hopefully I can get something done soon myself :(
Take care :)
I hope you get the help you need, good luck!
Thanks for the good luck -- always appreciated.
Get well soon!
Hope everything's straightened out soon, you don't deserve all this suffering, it's awful!
I'm glad the Affordable Care Act is working for you. I think the reason you hear so many people down on it is because while it really helps some people, it's neutral and actually hurts others. So... sadly it isn't the across-the-board fix of our broken system that many were hoping it would be. But again, I'm glad it is working out to help you! It is nice to have some success stories and not just all the negative feedback!
I hope you get better soon!
I think there are pretty much only two options... tough it out until it passes or you can try the "migraine" labeled stuff at maximum dose. You know the aspirin + acetaminophen + caffeine stuff. I've had it work well enough for me to get to sleep and then it's over by the time I wake up.
I hope your doctor's meeting goes well and they can get the problem fixed as I know it's no fun!

Also, curious, did you try a gluten free diet? Gall stones/ gall bladder issues and acid issues can be a sign of Celiac disease. I've had both issues and had my gall bladder removed a few years before they finally were able to make the Celiac diagnosis. I've known a good few who have turned out similarly and with extra stomach issues gotta give the diet at least a month before you start feeling the difference. I hope everything works out for you.
