Mythir (closed species)
Currently available
Often mistaken for their distant relatives, the faeries, Mythir are nearly impossible to see to the human eye. They are only about 3 inches tall, with wings that look similar to butterflies, moths and other insect types. Some types are more rare than others. Common types are called Myths and have butterfly wings, the Uncommon types are known either as Moths and have moth wings, and Rare types are called Miths with dragonfly wings.
Mythiri are attracted to bodies of clean water, so anywhere there is water, there are usually Mythir who will follow. The population is proportional to the quality and quantity of water in an area Mythiri have the innate ability to nurture and nourish plants with their presence, therefore, the areas that support populations of Mythir tend to flourish into dense jungles. They are fierce when it comes to protecting their homes, despite their tiny statures. These creatures are highly sociable and family oriented creatures that live in expansive hives located in the roots of great trees and in the high caverns of mountains.
Additionally, Mythiri were responsible for revitalizing dead land, such as regions destroyed by volcanic activity, however, with the rise of human destruction and civilization, they cannot keep up with the rate of demise. Ancient civilizations of Mythir who have been around for millenniums are being wiped out by deforestation of jungles and the pollution of water sources.
Each Mythir, once they hatch, go through the process of finding their alignment, and their coming of age ceremony is the establishment of their 'Mythos', or their purpose in life. Their alignment is what they are most naturally able to manipulate. Most are aligned to specific types of flowers and plants, however there are more powerful kinds who are aligned with elements (fire, water, earth, air, plasma). Even rarer still are those who are aligned with weather, and celestial bodies such as planets and stars. Their Mythos, once refined and matured, can be used as a physical manifestation or augmented growth. For example, a Daffodil Mythos can sprout daffodils just about anywhere, or make a natural-daffodil grow to enormous sizes. Depending on their Mythos, different job assignments are available to them. Their Mythos is their livelihood.
