AnthroCon is a GO! Any tips for flying?
I've booked a flight for myself and
blarmajin.
We're rooming together with 2 other furs, and we'll be getting there on Wednesday, July 2, and leaving Monday July 7.
I've never flown before and I'm excited!! :3 Is there anything I should know? Will they take care of my baggage if it has a fursuit in it? (I'm possibly going to finish my genet character partial suit before then, and would it be okay to check that in a flight?)
I'm so fucking excited. Holy crap.
My first AC, my first time to Pittsburgh, my first plane ride... My first completed partial fursuit possibly. If I can sit my ass down at Blarm's and freakin DOOOO ITTTT.
(Still taking name suggestions. I kind of wanted to name her Lig--pronounced "loch"--which is the Afrikaans word for "light" because I'm chunky and genets are supposed to be real slinky and stuff... But I feel like choosing something with a weird pronunciation isn't a great choice.)

Other than that, enjoy your trip!
The rest you have to check-in; these bags get stowed in the plane's cargo hold for you to retrieve at baggage claim. Don't put fragile things in checked-in bags.
Your suit will probably take up an entire bag, and since you'll probably have another bag for normal clothes and stuff, I'd say to check-in the bag with your fursuit, and carry-on your normal clothes bag. (Unless your normal clothes bag is bigger; actually, I'd say to check-in the bigger bag and carry-on the smaller one. A smaller bag is easier to haul up to the overhead bins!)
Make sure to have ID and your boarding pass. I like to use e-boarding passes; I can just pull it up on my phone to scan.
At the gate right before they board, I like to stand near the line instead of sitting in the chairs. That way as soon as they call your group number, you're right there at the line. (The sooner you board, the better, as it'll be easier to find space in the overhead bins.)
Other than that, enjoy the flight!
I'm not sure which will take up more space, but I have somewhat an idea that my clothes bag will be bigger. I'm a big sized person, and I will be having like 5 days worth of clothes, hah.
Have fun and see ya at AC
Gum is a good idea, though. Thank you. :)
