When a watcher is "removed"

So, I don't often update my messages and notifications all that much on FA.
But what I have noticed, is that some watchers are "removed" when before their display pic was up and everything. :o
Does that mean they've unfollowed me, or does it mean their account went bye bye?

If it's removed, then they unwatched you -- but we had a watchbot spam problem that about a dozen or so bots mass-watched a lot of people, and then the FA admins stopped them and wiped their watchlist. Since the database doesn't clear out those watch/unwatch notifications, you'd see the "Watch was removed by the user."
