Casting Call for upcoming project!
Ok. I've been thinking about it and I've decided I want to do an audio/visual version of my story "Of Tunnel Rats and Badgers". However, while I can do the voice of Brock (who is the narrator as well) and possibly Az, there's just too many characters for me to voice all of them, and some I simply cannot do at all. My voice is particularly poorly equipped to do females.
So... here are the parts I'm looking for and a brief character description as well as what I'm looking for in a voice actor. I'm looking for people who can actually produce decent recordings (use a mic and recording software, don't just voice memo off your phone please). This is important as I don't want to spend a ton of time tweaking audio files to make them blend together well.
If you're interested, reply to this journal with what parts you might be interested in. I will send you some lines to record and give you a place to send them to.
Parts:
Cpl. James "Az" Aster: hare, 27 years old. Second in command of the squad. Tall and lanky. Tends to be a bit of a mother hen. Voice should be deep, Midwestern (Chicago/Detroit) and have an African American tone to it. (Not gangsta though)
Pfc. Michael Clancy: weasel, 20 years old. Kind of a big, dumb jock from Philadelphia. Not as smart as he likes to think he is, but brave and loyal. Looking for a Philadelphia/Pittsburg type voice, deep.
Pfc. Peter Gorski: rat. 20. Also from Philadelphia, and best friends with Clancy. Highly intelligent and a tech wiz, but also a bit of a goofball. Looking for a mid tone Philadelphia type voice, but he also has a character he likes to play with a (bad) Russian accent.
Pfc. Enrique Rojas: red fox. 23. Inner city west coast Hispanic. Touchy and suspicious by nature, Rojas tends to see the worst in things, and his life tends to back up his negative views. Mid-tone mexican accent, occasionally incorporating Spanish slang and lingo.
Pvt. Spencer Weylan: ferret. 18. Small and slight, Wey is the youngest and newest member of the squad. He's a bit of a scoundrel and a natural thief, but highly charming and very charismatic. Wey comes from the Pacific Northwest and speaks with a fast paced, higher pitched voice.
Lt. Daniel Edelman. 30. A dachshund with a bantam rooster complex. He's smaller than pretty much everybody, so he makes up for it by being absolutely vicious. Frankly, Edelman is an asshole par excellence. He almost always sounds arrogant and sneering, with a plain Midwest accent. Also slightly insane.
Doctor Emelia Sorenson: cat. 26. Emelia is a brilliant scientist with a privileged past. Tends to be flirty or downright sultry. She is basically southern aristocracy, and speaks with a soft Georgian high-class accent.
Respond if you're interested and I'll send you some sample lines to record for me.

I'm willing to try :3
sqwee! ok! if ya need me, let me know C:
But, ugh... the kind of character i would have to play if I voiced that Michael Clancy character you mentioned would be pretty much EXACTLY the kind of local residents that live here irl that pretty much make me hate this town (lol).
But, l don't get me wrong... while I'd like to think I'm fairly good at changing my voice around without use of "voice morpher" programs... and also, the whole idea of doing vocal work is something I've wanted to do for a good long time... I certainly expect you can find people as good as me or better anyways.
Anyways... I DO have a mic, and i use Audacity for all my audio editor needs stuff, so I do have the necessary software and equipment to do such a thing.
However, due to being turned down for a casting call of another sort when it comes to online vocal casting calls, I really rather not be turned down again for anymore casting calls anyway.
There's individual documents with the lines I want read for each character, feel free to audition for whichever you'd like.
Please upload files to that folder (can simply drag files to the list), and please name the files as YOURNAME_PARTNAME.whatever.
Upload DOES require a google login, so let me know if you are unable or unwilling to do this and we can work out some other way to get the files to me.
Thanks for your interest! This could be a pretty epic under-taking, and a lot of fun.
