Back in the Saddle

Well then. I know it’s been a long time, but life has finally settled in around me to the point that I’ve had the will and motivation to draw again. It’s been a rough couple of years (good grief, has it really been that long?) but it feels so good to have my art return to me.
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been returning to my roots, so to speak, and pulled out my graphites and sketchbook from deep within my desk. A few struggles here and there, but the bug bit me again and I filled up several pages with random, rough sketches. Then, on a whim, I decided to get myself an Apple Pencil for my iPad and Adobe Sketch.... and the flood gates opened. I felt like I’d been reborn.
I’ll be uploading the sketchbook sketches to scraps later, frankly they’re pretty rough basic sketches and studies and not much worth looking at, but over the next few days, the sketches I did on my iPad will be uploaded for everyone to enjoy. My style has changed some, but to something I’m much more comfortable with. I’ve never really felt that the polished, inked comic style of art I’ve been attempting here has been natural to what my skill set is. Always favored a more sketchy, naturalistic, rough around the edges style that I feel allows me far more freedom to express myself. For now, I’m dealing solely in black and white, but once I figure out some more tricks of the devices and programs I’m using now I’ll be incorporating color in soon enough.
Thank you all for your patience and sticking with me through the unproductive times. Y’all are the best!

Nice to see you back Brock
Were you getting into the comic version of OTRAB or the written story? I’d like to continue the comic at some point, but that’s still a bit beyond the horizon as things stand. The written story, however, is complete and available if you want to see what happens.
I do hope you’re still drawing or painting even if you’re not going to post here. Gotta start somewhere and we were all newbs at one point. XD Heck, I look back at some of my earlier drawings and I remember why I chose to identify as a writer rather than an artist. :p
Btw, if you’re still trying to figure out a fursona concept, I’d be glad to help or offer advice. I love developing characters and making them feel real and fleshed out.
I hope we can talk soon. I've missed you lots.
