Paypal's not so hard to work - you can sign up with an email address in the usual and predictable way. That'll essentially grant you an online bank account.

If you want that money to be accessible in your offline bank accounts, there's more complicated shenanigans to go through, but I've never found it necessary. Consider it an online jar o' cash.

What about pricing? I'm not really sure how I would go about pricing things. I don't have people to judge what I've written now and again. So I can't really say I'm confident in setting rates myself.

Eesh, that's a tough one. I don't want to cop out and say "it's up to you" - it is, after all, despite that confidence - but I guess there's a few guidelines I can think of.

I'm.. lucky? I'm not really in a position where I need the income, so I just charge for the time. That roughly equates to wordcount, and some writers charge per word. I charge per page instead. You could also charge a flat fee; y'know, just listen to their idea and say "Sounds cool, I'll do it for $x?".

Industry standard is about half a cent per word, if that helps. :3
