Sort of conflicted on even being a furry at times

my view point on furries is really strange honestly I have always saw it as an extension of ones self like... some sort of artistic outlet, but lately I've been completely shocked by the amount of socially awkward and mentally unhealthy people this fandom has or creates. First of all I don't want to fuck you any of you at all I also don't give a flying fuck about who you are, how much porn you have bought, how long you have been in the fandom, and how much you've spent on a suit so please do not IM me asking to fuck me please when I send you a note asking an opinion or help on an idea or design because I respect your opinion does not mean I am some creep trying to fuck you. I personally believe that furries have been rightfully given there sterotype of socially awkward sex craved idiots and thats unfortunate because I believe it is or can be much more. With that all said I enjoy the friendship and kindness that many furries have shown me and I myself am a furry... I don't know just dislike some of the culture, actions and people of the furry community and sometimes it ruins the whole experience for me... So chances are thats why you'll see me either very active in the community (comments, commisions, favs) or completely inactive don't know if I hate furries or love em yet XD

so that was my long winded, pointless donkey shit journal that nobody will read

Couldn't agree more. I'm sure you've heard me go off on tangents about how furries have hypersexualized the fandom; they're basically the reason why explaining to your parents that you're a furry is so fuckin' awkward. The first thing they're going to see when they google "furry fandom" is a fox taking it up the ass, and that sends a pretty crooked message.

The furry stereotype is pretty justified, granted SL is pretty much the scum of the fandom. From what I can tell a good portion of furries don't humor SL, and those furries tend to be the less "what the fuck".

Yeah I suppose my opinion is highly based on what I have gone through/seen not only on FA but SL as well still rather unfortunate

I tend to just laugh it off, personally. I mean, the internet is a place where you can be whoever you want. If that person happens to be a cum guzzling hoe-bag with no sense of filter or personal space (even if it's just the internet), then you're entitled to be that person, since it takes quite a lot of balls to act on that in real life. It's both a beautiful, and terrifying thing, the internet; especially among furries, since furries are accepting of..everything really. Varying from just art, to sex, and to extreme fetishes between minor (or blantant) pedophilia clear onto things that just don't make any sense are humanly impossible without extreme consequences (inflation, death during sex, vore etc. etc.)

The interwebs are an odd series of tubes. Something I have noticed over the years is that text doesn't always do a great job of conveying the emotions you want it to. I've said the nicest compliment in the world to someone before and it caused the person to hate me forever thinking I was being a jerk. Every group has its ups and downs and every group has its misunderstandings. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the whole community for you.

I agree with some of your points you can be whoever you want to be my post was more so refering to me not enjoying the socially awkward and mentally unstable population of the furry community it's a personal thing I know and I don't think that you should be condemed for being some sort of cum guzzling hoe bag but at times i'm not sure I want to compliment someone and have them think i'm trying to fuck them or have them try to fuck me because I gave them some sort of recognition. And on a side note I do agree and I am disgusted by the pedophilia that I have seen on the site, granted as far as I am aware cub porn is not allowed but i've seen quite a few ways that people get around it "Oh this character is 18 it's imaginary creature just looks like a baby, or oh this pokemon is 18 when it's blatent that the pokemon was made to look like a baby.... but gah thats another story, I just dislike the whole it's 18 but looks like it's 4 and I also kind of shudder seeing children shows made into porn (going to get alot of flak given the large amount of MLP fans who will tell me that it's not only made for children blah blah blah) but eh just another reason I sometimes kind of scoot away from the fandom

I agree that people can be too much or too little - I have a lot of fun meeting Furries though of any fetish or kind - at the end of the day I can't get along with everyone, but I really enjoy being open about talking sex~ it's just fun for me, and it seems like I can discuss that more or less with other furs. However, I can turn my furry-ness off - I work a full time job, I have other hobbies and interests~

It's just cool to meet similar minded people, even if a good chunk of them are a bit nutty >S

I've come to find though that I become better at being social by learning how to turn down friendship offers in a kind and very forward way. The block button also helps a lot too. It also helps to have backup from close friends to confirm that there's little to no compatibility between you and the new stranger.

You can talk to me though! XD I'm so happy you like my art and it looks like? you have sick characters! Make requests from me sometimes! XD

I try to be a nice friendly fur that trades art easily and readily~

Yeah fair, I think I would be more attatched to the furry community if I had friends in it beyond just a couple though I believe I have come across more negative experiences with perverse idiots who cannot turn it off then I have come across the latter sadly

OH YEAH. Dude, welcome to my world - I couldn't dive into con without a guide - and now I have a handful of friend/furry-trackers~ They really take the edge off for me. Now cons are like window shopping in art galleries where I'm the model, and drinking with awesome gay/straight/trans/furry/everything friends~ I totally dig it, but it took my 3 cons to get into the groove of it - - - - I try to steer away from autistic people/diaper furs/yiffers - it's just no my lifestyle - I LOVE the art! That's my weakness~

I don't suit, I don't do tooooo much furry things outside of FA - - I'm glad you bumped into me. Maybe I can shed some light on a really cool community for ya XD

Personally i don't feel that its a furry thing, its a common thing in a place that people share interests that also has adult content. The only reason people think the furry community is mostly sexually depraved is because they feel the mixture of an animal characteristics mixed with human anatomy is sexual in some way, they see a female wolf character with human breasts and they feel that because they find human female breasts to be sexual then they think the character is sexual in some way. Then they also see the pornographic images and meet others who do want to talk or do something revolved around sex and then it builds a bad image for the community.

I remember non-furry people saying that the khajiits in oblivion were sexual because they didn't look like monsters and had human breasts before, so don't take much of what others say seriously.

As for dealing with other furry people who do have a sex obsession it would be best to mostly spend your time in places that don't allow adult content and set your boundary with people and don't talk or befriend those who cross it. And remember that people are generally sex craved, hints the large amount of pornographic material online.

Just stand firmly and try to not let others get to you and don't lose your passion and joy because of someone you don't even know.
