I'm a walker, a stroller and a fursuit tourist.
I put a lot of damn miles on my paws, and, unlike my
real life counterparts, my feets wear out.
I have rebuilt my original footpaws three or four times, and with each
ref-furring and re-padding they look a little less crisp.
Now I have a brand new set of paws that are practically virginal and
have only seen soft carpet and clean tile thus far.
But...AC is coming up, and that means some serious
street walking in the city of steel.
What to do?
I've never really liked the look of paw sandals, but I am headed in that
direction now. I need protection from gum, grime and PA rain storms,
and, given my tiny mutt brain, I can't think of any other solutions.
And that leaves me with two questions:
1) What are the other options?
B) Do I make sandals myself or is there a lovely and talented
fur that would whip me up a nice set before AC?
As always, I appreciate your input more than I can say and I love
all y'all's furry butts.

i know you really cantbuy them like that but why nto get liek sneakers or boots :P might be able to come up with something cool, and good for the feet
I've been thinking about some oversize moccasin type of thing, and
I've been trying to imagine what a real anthro dog might wear to
protect his paws from the mean streets.
i was jsut thinking you could go different, everyone i know who got a suit has the 'sandle' so do something or maybe start a new tend and try and do tennis shoes or boots or like you say moccasin or something.
course my ideas aint always great :P

In this fandom, anything is possible.
I built my own feet paws that are primarily for indoor use, but they have tough silicon paw pads so I can use em outside on concrete and asphalt but the idea of gum in the fur I may limit use outside.
Gum; the bane of fursuiters everywhere!
I suppose sandals are the best answer for the outdoor dilemma.

And it doesn't matter if you should wear it to work or not; it's power armor. They couldn't do anything to you even if they tried to tell you no.
Those sandals' sole material should be thin but durable to be comfortable to use and protect feet paws.
Some of the sandals I've seen look like a loaf of bread stuck on the bottom of the paw!
I cut them from camping mat which is about half inch thick and soft. And my feetpaws also include one layer, so basically I am walking (or balancing) on a cloud. ^^
Outdoor are open sneaker bottoms and silicone sealed foam to protect. Good for climbing around peggys cove or other fairly active events.

I've had to resole my original footpaws several times. They are quite ready to be turned into house slippers. I have put together 2 sets of shoe based paws, they seem to work out nicely. Will have to build up a set for myself before AC.
If I was at all clever I'd build some. As it is,
I shall explore makers and see if anyone is up for the task.
