I'll never understand the concept of owning a species.

I mean, I guess it works if you legit make your own cool creature. I doubt that'll deter people from drawing it if they want and it's still stupid but whatever.

But earlier I saw something that was basically a cat with tattoos and a shark tail. The description legit said, "Please note you are not free to make your own tribal cat. You must either get one through me or [insert name of other artist]." and I'm just like; what makes you think you own that? It's a goddamn cat with tattoos. And even if you did, what exactly are you going to do if someone draws their own? Tell them to take down their own art? Sue? Gimmie a break.
